  1. Congratulations! Welcome aboard the band wagon! You sound like you have the right outlook and great optimism, you will be very successful with the LapBand, hang in there!
  2. Wonderful, exciting and happy news! I am so proud for you, no one has worked harder and helped so many others along the way, you are such a great mentor. Best to you, so happy for the excitement you are feeling right now! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
  3. Buy the way you are so beautiful, I love the new makeup! WOW is all I could say when I saw your post tonight! Keep up the good work!
  4. Praise the Lord, you are in wonderful Spirits, that is what it takes to get to where you are meant to be. Trust in him, I did and lean not on your own understanding. I looked to the sizes too, I would only focus on going down a size, kept trying them on every week until one day I was down another size!!!! About every 10 lbs I go down a whole size! So I work for 10 lbs increments. I started out a 24W and now I can just buy 14R off the shelf!!! It is so awesome! I can put on the 12's, but just can't zip them up yet! A lot has to do with the excess stomach but I don't have that much, cause I joined the Gym two months post op and work out 2-3 times a week. I am so Thankful for my friends here on LapBandTalk and for my opportunity to have this Surgery and my God who kept me through it and keeps me now.
  5. Hi! My Doctor's office provides Tri-Care! You can Charge your surgery and make monthly payments on it. I am in Florida and doing very well. NO Complications! If you are interested you can e-mail me ~ just let me know. The payments are less and low interest too. They replace the extra food cost I was spending before and the meds too! No prescriptions since surgery. Follow my blog at www.thelazydayz.blogspot.com, and read about the complications I had prior to surgery. I too was really depressed when BCBS would not pay for my surgery. I feel like I saved them knee replacements, etc etc!

  13. Your pics were awesome, you really lost that weight FAST! 115 lbs! OMG you are so beautiful! Happy Birthday, what a present to give yourself, you can have this size for the rest of your life and be healthy too! God is so good to us! I have lost 72.4 lbs so far and I was banded on July 29th, 2009 two months after you were. I hope to lose the 100 lbs by July 29, 2010! Did you ever have a time when you slowed down? Congrats, beautiful and a great voice, great body now, what more could you ask for? Thanks for being so inspiring to us all.
  14. I think I am there, not sure as this is all so new even after six and a half months. But I could only take .1cc at the last fill! I still have great restriction and I am not eating foods that stretch the band out! The more cc's you get the more you are stretching out the band! That is what I was told. I started out getting 1.5 cc's and it has tapered down since then. I don't think I am going to get one next month at all. I feel great, and I am learning to eat those small meals (5-6) per day. What that does is stop your body from going into sleep mode and not metabolizing and burning fat. When you eat small meals you burn fat continuously!!! It does work, I put it to the test after my longggggg plateau! After five fills I think I have hit the Sweet Spot! Good Luck and I know you will get there too!
  15. :frown:Great!! The warmer weather is here, 68 degrees today! And the sun felt so good! I saw a lot of folks I have not seen in a long time today, and I just got compliments all day. It was truly wonderful. I have never been the center of attention like I was today, and honestly it was sorta embarrassing but in a good way, I could feel myself blushing! It has been 15 years since I was this small. I have a great restriction now so I just can't eat the food I use to consume, down another lb this morning, Yea! I have to drink a lot of fluids now, and stay hydrated, so the lbs will drop, especially with warmer weather coming we all will, it helps your body flush the fat you burn during the day too. Good Luck Guys, Enjoy the coming springs!

  17. :thumbup:I feel so blessed that I heard about the band and went forward with the surgery. Down 74.2 lbs with only 26 lbs to go to get to my goal weight and not quite 7 mos into the program. I have lost over 62% of my excess body weight! And I have managed to keep fairly toned by going to the Gym and Walking! The Hospital Administrator called me for permission to share my photos and story in a Medical Journal that they publish in and I told her YES! I just hope that my story will inspire and help others who are struggling with weight issues in their lives! God Bless you as you continue on this journey is my prayer!

I weighed 267 and in six months I am down 72 lbs!!!! Nuff Said? I took Celebrex for pain in my legs and feet, could not wear high heels, no sexy clothes either! I was border line diabetic, took Metphormin for that and now I take no meds at all, occasional Tylenol and a Multi-Vitamin. I ate a low carb diet in preparation for the surgery, still do it works and high protein! I try to eat small portions no more than 8 oz per meal and I have 5 or 6 small ones a day. I drink lots of Crystal Lite, love it. No sodas they are loaded with sugars and make you fat! You can have an occasional beer or wine, but alcohol the first year is pretty much out. It interferes with your weight loss. It is not hard to stay on a plan, cause you don't get hungry with the band. DO IT! You will never reqret it!

Good for you. I heard at the Seminar here last night that the Realize band is "Too New to Rate!" and not all it is cracked up to be. They have about three years knowledge of how the LapBand AP has done and it is quite well. I love mine! Down 71 lbs now after 6 months! Good luck with everything!
  22. I loved all the quotes! HOPE you are doing well! Breezing right along, can't believe it has been over six months for me. I do believe that ATTITUDE is an essential part of being successful with the LapBand!
  23. Hey Girl, I felt like a 57 year old fool when I started 4 months ago! But I jumped in and knew I had paid the money, and I was there to get what I came for! I got my seventh fill yesterday, weighed in (Lost another 4 1/2 lbs-Total of 71 in 6 mos 11 days) and I lost lots of inches! In my waist 1 1/2 and an inch in my bust in one month, I am doing crunches, and working cardio and weight resistance. When I don't go, I feel bad, I have to get out and walk or jog just to feel better!!! Good luck, you are moving in the right direction and you will be one of the VERY successful ones with the band! I love that full feeling, I use to say all the time, I AM STARVING TO DEATH! But no more!
  24. I use to rub my shoulder and that is where I hurt the most, I did not know to take andy Gas X, so I took the pain meds the Dr. gave me, liquid. Walking did help some, but time is what it took to get past the surgery. I feel for you, cause I have been there, but let me just say, when you are past the pain it will be so worth it!
  25. I am so happy to see someone post who has several years post Lapband. I want to get to 155 lbs. I am only 6 mos 11 days post op down about 71 lbs! I am so glad to see you are still happy and visiting this site. Please stay on and help us newbies with your excitement and encouragement.
