I am having terrible gas and chest pain exspecially when i try to burb.

I my name is Karen and i was banded on Feb. 8 2010. When i was at the hospital my chest hurt alot my doctor said it was normal because i had tubes down my throat. Since being home I have been getting really bad gas pains, so i been walking at the mall on at the gym, everytime I move I get a shortness of breath, as well I feel it alot more when i try to burb. I talked to the nurse and she said it is normal. I am truly not trying to freak out and I know and anticipated that there would be some discomfort and abnormalities going on with my body, but I didn't anticipate this. Have anyone experience the same thing and if so where there meds to help with the chest pains because the one my doctor prescribed does nothing for my chest pains I am sure it would help for my stomache if it hurt but i don't have pains where my incessions are on my stomache so drinking the med in my opinion is useless.

Try Gas-X strips and the prescribed pain meds. I had no discomfort in my incision but felt horrible - just like you describe. It took me several Gas-X and two percocets to get the pain under control.

Don't panic! :frown:

Walking worked best for me...the gasX didn't do a thing. I think it differs for everyone. Hang in there...soon you'll wake up pain free.

Congrats on getting banded...best of luck.

I use to rub my shoulder and that is where I hurt the most, I did not know to take andy Gas X, so I took the pain meds the Dr. gave me, liquid. Walking did help some, but time is what it took to get past the surgery. I feel for you, cause I have been there, but let me just say, when you are past the pain it will be so worth it!
