harder than i thought! **ONEderland*** finally!
I have to say i started this process thinking it was going to be easy. I guess i thought i would have surgery i would eat less and the weight would fall off. BOY WAS I WRONG!! I am glad i was wrong. I fell betterknowing how hard i work for my weight loss. The past month i have been at the gym 5 days a week for at least 2 hours. I have only lost 5 lbs this month! (witch puts me under 200lbs :smile2:) But i am sooo much more fit and active. I climbed a rock wall last week. this is some thing i thought i would never do. I never thought i would have the upper body strength to do it. It was the best feeling. It made me understand that all my hard word is not for nothing. and sometimes (just sometimes) the scale number just dont matter. My name is Laurie Lopez and I no longer weight 200 pounds!:smile2: (tear)

its been a while!
I'm down to 205. Life has really got in the way of my weight loss. This summer has been so busy. I cannot wait till things slow down. My husband and i took in a foster child. he is a family members child. So now i have My two boys 4 and 3 and a 15 month old. Needless to say i dont get to the gym nearly as often as i was. I do walk my oldest son to and from school witch gives me a good 20 walk but it does not seem to be enough. I have noticed lately that my band work wonderfully till about 2 then i become a bottomless pit. I can eat sooooo much more after 2pm. i have 7cc in a 10cc band so there is no way i want another fill. Does anyone else have this issue?

13 weeks post op
I cannot believe how time flies! Since surgery i have lost 30 lbs. I am down to 213! I still think i eat alot on some days. I am kinda afraid to get another fill because some days i have good restriction. I have another doctor appointment on the 1st of july. Would like to know his opinion. I feel like i am getting my life back. My goal was to be at 200 before my vacation in july. I go to the gym 4 times a week on a good week. Hopefully that will be enough to get it done.

Easy way out???
i have to say no too! It is not the "easy way out"! you still have to work out and make good food choices. You still have to do the work. Yes the band does help you to get full faster but that is all. you will have to burn the calories you choose to eat. remember ice cream and starbucks ect will go right through your band! you still have to put in the effort. So dont let anyone tell you its going to be "easy"! I kill myself at the gym and earn my 1 to 2 lbs a week i lose. In saying that i also earn the 2lbs i gained this weekend eating ice cream and potato chips while at the beach! Good luck!

stomach flu!
My son gets what think is a stomach flu. Yep you guessed whats next, i got it too! I have not vomited since i was pregnant with my 2 year old. I HATE to VOMIT!!! (T.M.I sorry) Vomiting after being banded is the worst feeling i have ever experienced. Nothing would come out my band seemed to block it from coming up.. I could only get a few tea spoons up at a time it was even trying to come out of my nose. It seemed like my body HAD to get it out but couldn't. I thought i was going to die because i could not breath. It was so violent. i am so scared i did something to my band. This morning i called my doctors office the nurse told to to take the anti vomiting meds they perscribed before surgery... Why didnt i think of that? i could have saved my self this horrible expierance. Has anyone out there ever had this experience?

first fill
Yesterday i had my first fill. It was a lot easier that i thought it would be. The Doctor told me not to worry about the numbers that was his job, so i have no idea how much fluid i have in my band. It looked like i had 2cc from surgery and he put in 3cc. I am not sure it just looked like it 5cc when he pulled all the fluid out then pushed it back in. I am kind nervous about my fill. I was doing so good before. I could everything, pizza, rice, bread, just smaller amounts. My goal for this was to able to live a "normal" life and be able to lose a health amount of weight. Then maintain it! I know if i have to much fluid i can always have an un-fill. We shell see! Mothers day is sunday and i will still be on soft foods:bored:. I am down to 219. I have going to the gym and working my butt off! I want to be down to 200 by summer! Its gonna take lots of work!
