  1. Sounds wonderful, I was looking for a recipe for my daughters wedding rehearsal dinner, this would be great! Add a nice side salad and some Garlic Bread for them! I love your blogs too! Thanks for sharing your great low fat, low cal recipes! God Bless You!
  2. Congrats! 65 lbs! Wow, you are doing wonderful. I pray every day for the strength to keep on losing the weight I need to lose, lots of daily problems to deal with don't help with the stress related issues and the LapBand eating regiment. I try to eat too fast! I always have and then not being able to drink with my meal that is another thing to face. You are doing so well, continued success.
  3. My first meal was Chinese, I ate a small portion from the Buffet, it was SOOOO tasty! I just stopped and rested between each bite to make sure it was all going down and staying down. I had to remember that the stomach is still swollen and you don't want to irritate it! Eat soft foods like the CHILI that you did, and you will know when to stop. It is just off kilter from the Norm, but when you return home, just get back on track, life will happen and we will learn to live with it and go with the flow! Continued success! Praying for you!

This site always gave me my motivation along with my innerself! I have a VERY skinny husband who NEVER gained a pound for the past 31 years of our marriage! I was always up and down, and I think he just thought this was another one of my TRYS at something new! I am living proof it can be done and NOW he is a true believer in the LapBand! He is a great help to me, but does not go to the Gym with me and I felt all alone there, but pushed on!!!! Keep on Keepin ON! I am praying for you!
  5. You will do fine! I remember the first time I got stuck, oh it was terrible, yes and I too thought drinking something would help me to move it down the track, WRONG! LOL it is funny now but not then. Keep up the good work, don't expect too much weight loss the first month, just heal and get well and the losses WILL Come, Praying for you!
  6. May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His Glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Holy Spirit indwelling your innermost being and personality. EPHESIANS 3:16 The day begins and we are dissappointed or get upset and then we may act ugly, throw fits, and ruin our witness of what God has done in our lives. People will be jealous of you and how you have lost weight and they will envy your efforts and covet what you have. Do not act ugly or Get Upset. Pray for those people and be happy about your accomplishments anyway! Good health brings about true happiness and for a longer lifetime! Losing weight has always made me feel better about myself as a person but never made me feel any better than any other person. We are all created equal in Gods eyes! Be satisfied that you made the right choice for YOU! You can not decide for others what is right for them, the LapBand is for me, but NOT for everyone! Many people constantly seek the thrill of new experience, but everything new eventually becomes an old thing. Sooner or later, people have to be happy with old things too, or they will never reach God's higher goal of contentment. We must learn to be content with such things as we have to the point where we are not disturbed or disquieted, no matter what state of mind we are in. We should remain humble and enjoy plenty. The secret to facing every situation, whether well-fed or hungry, was to be content.:smile2:
  7. Don't get upset over this, just get a pencil paper and start logging again, that is the first and hardest step for me, but when I do it, I can see so clearly where I have messed up. Today I had no energy! Had a headache, but I did , manage to eat right today, and that I know from experience will show up on the scales in the morning. Keep On Keepin on and you will acheive your goal!
  8. :smile:From a Daily Devotional Book by Joyce Meyer! Just thought this was an appropriate quote for all us LapBanders! "When I said, My foot is slipping, Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, held me up." Psalm 94:18 Some people seem to start their day on the "wrong foot." They feel all right when they wake up, but as soon as something goes wrong, they lose their footing and walk with a "losers limp" the rest of the day. Once they are off to a bad start, it seems they never catch up. If someone offends us early in the morning, our anger can keep us defensive all day. If we start the day rushing, it seems we never slow down. But today our feet can be firmly planted in God's Word. There will be no "bad day" when God's Word supports, strengthens, and directs us. ********************************** I know that my cause was self destructive, the reason I became a "fat lady". I always had bad days, because I brought them on myself. I DO believe that obesity is a disease, and a mental state that is hard to overcome. The LapBand AP is my salvation from obesity, but without the strength from God and God's Word, I could not have done one thing!!!! This is my journey with the band, but my partner God is my true savior! I am soon approaching my one year bandiversary, and when I first started to blog, I read about all the "others" who had been one year or more out, and could only imagine how I would feel, it was like a dream to me as I am sure all of you who have just signed on feel. It will come, slow down, enjoy life around you, help others, feel and be blessed by all of this, yet remain humble, and always appreciate the blessings in your life and always give back to others and you will recieve so much more. God Bless you all on this wonderful journey to health and happiness!:smile2:
  9. Great Post, the only place I really despise on my body right now is my underarm wings, and I have worked out since 8 weeks after surgery, weight lifting ;the works, they don't look real bad to others, but to me I am bothered by them, I may have them fixed, and then there is the tummy that held my four babies, yes a tummy tuck will be nice, but I too have noticed my stomach shrinking very nicely!!! But my scars have moved several times over the past year as well, my port moves too as I continue to lose in the stomach area! It is a real learning experience, and has been a marvelous experience for me too! Loved the blog tonight!
  10. Well after the fourth of July and some cake and goodies. (cheating) I have rolled 2 lbs up and down. I am going to have to work hard to get them gone, cause I have a goal this month to meet to get to my bandiversary weight. I won't hit 100 lbs, but that is OK! Life does go on around us and we are still a part of it. We will get use to how to work out lives around the band, to work with it, not against it. Have a blessed day all!:frown:
  11. You are so welcome Healthy111! I feel that we are probably more discriminated against than any race, they have far more protection from it! I too now work in HR, but as an assistant, and it just infuriates me to see people who "on purpose" can hurt others lives because they can. No empathy for others. NOT Sympothy, I never needed that, but put yourself in my shoes for one time and try not to criticise others to the degree that you make fun of others. God gave us a freedom to choose the "Right" path, the "Right" things to do and the "Right" things to say. If we do not make good use of that Freedom, we might not have it too long, he is in control of our lives, but allows the freedom to choose, so we can apply our teachings to our lives. We are being graded too!

Hey Stay with Lindora! I followed it too, printed off the materials daily, and it WORKS! It is difficult to stay with but honestly you will lose faster on that program than any other, I now teach it at our support group. I never bought any of their products, I just ate off the shelf and learned to look for high carb foods and avoid them, it is the best way to live. Good Luck to you, I am down 91 lbs now.
  13. :smile:Well it use to be a fiasco in the mornings as I prepared to go to work, just to find something in my closet that would fit!!! Well those days are over, down 91 lbs this morning, and facing my one year bandiversary on the 29th of this month! I feel great and I have not been frustrated at all in finding something that fits me to wear to work!!! I just realized how awesome that is!!!! Now I just have to decide WHAT it is that I want to wear to work! I actually like wearing makeup again, because I don't sweat it off! I am learning new makeup techniques and I have a new Hairdo too! I actually straightened my hair which is naturally curly the other day with a curling iron and I LIKED it. Before I lost weight I don't think I CARED very much. Now I DO!!!! A lot of people have told me I look younger and I think I do too! Being smaller makes me happy! I have to tell you ladies, nothing makes me madder though than to hear a remark like I did yesterday! There was a big girl, at a convention center who was wearing clothing not flattering to her larger figure, she did look Fat and not at all attractive. Now, as a big girl, I KNEW my limitations and always dressed appropriately. One man said, "Now there is at least 350 lbs on hoof" Comparing a woman to a cow is not respectful at all, and a tiny girl was laughing with him at this woman. To tell you the truth, it broke my heart! I feel so much compassion for all of us big people, we are NOT treated fairly in the workplace or any other place for that matter, and most big people I know have more class, more heart, more of everything than some of the skinny people I know. I pray that God gives me a compassion and a role to play to others to witness the results of the LAP-BAND® to others who will listen, I believe with all my heart that the timing of the funds I recieved to have my LAP-BAND®, were in Gods hands, and I will continue to do my best to make this work in my life and help all others I come into contact with do the same. We have to learn as a society to love all people the same, no matter the situations we have in life. Have a great day all!
  14. I had heard this a while back, and it is true, we even got supersized too! LOL, we always want more bang for the buck, and they know we are hungry so why not? Fries are so good, but they are the reason we have severely clogged arteries! Heart attack and strokes are the number one killer of women. My friend just passed away at age 56, she had only had a gastric bypass about three years ago and looked wonderful! She had clogged arteries and it was massive. Even though we are losing weight and getting healthy, lets not forget to get regular checkups with our doctors, to check on the damage that may have already been done! Miss her terribly and she was so beautiful, and so happy she was smaller, she had even bought a Harley and learned to ride and loved it!
  15. Thanks all, the work starts tomorrow!! Finally after hiring and getting organized, our company is hitting the beaches to remove the contaminated sand from our beaches! It is a sad time, but what has been done is done, and all we can do is take BP's money and Clean it up. Thanks for all the sweet compliments from all of you, I am going to have to stop and take some updated photos, Well when I hit One year, I will get a photo shoot to celebrate, We must Band Together (Pun Intented)!
  16. Well I am fast approching 11 months with the band, lost 3 1/2 lbs this week! Yeah! Hope I can keep it off. I am just now getting to eat on a regular and planned basis again. We have put 185 out on the Beaches in South Walton County, getting another 200 ready to go to classes. I learned today that we will need 35,000 people to do this cleanup, at best we have 6,000 ready to go!!!!Shocking Right? It is going to be a long road back to recovery but I believe we will make it! We must, we have to. Our beaches are (were) so beautiful. I hear that they are removing the carcasses of dead sting ray, porpoise and shark and fish off the beaches at night so no one sees that, they are being brought in with the evening tide. I am so glad I took a relaxing trip to Alaska before returning home to this devastation! But now we have to roll up our sleeves and work! IN one month, it will be a year with the band, and you know it just seems like yesterday to me sometimes now! I am so happy to feel better and I am more confident that I look better and my clothes fit better. But with all this work, I am missing the Gym!!!!:cool2:
  17. Thanks to all of you, it is heartbreaking to see these white sand beaches devastated with oil. And the gas prices are reflecting it too. I think you can rent a 2 BR Condo in PCB today for $350.00 per month, can't go onto the Beaches, but it is still a nice area to stay. I like the pool best anyway, LOL Yes it looks like they could get something done, BP has no Idea how to handle this and they won't take anyones advise on it. The cap blew off in the Gulf today and now Pensacola Beach has been invaded with heavy black oil on it's pristine beaches, Mirimar Beach is Seascape (Destin) is next only a couple of days away. We have a crew just about ready to deploy to the location here in Walton County, FL. Worked 14 hours today due to the cap incident, will have to have dinner with Hubby for his BD later, he is understanding. Back at it again in five hours. Ate twice today, took me 4 hours to eat the last meal, just much a little here a little there, but drank most all day! It was good and we are still thankful. I was reminded on the way home tonight, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.!" Pray for the Panhandle of Florida.
  18. Zumba is fun, I have done the class as well. Not this week though, but I have a year paid at the Gym and need to go more often, just lots of interference lately. Hope you feel better tomorrow.
  19. :eek:Ate a little cheese and crackers mid morning, Water, and one protein Shake, Gosh did I get hungry before last night at Dinner. I worked straight through 13 hrs yesterday helping a friend staff over 100 workers for the Gulf Oil Spill! By the time I got home and tried to eat something it was just too late, same thing today. But I sent out for some food to have and I munched on it all day, then ate tonight. Whew, I don't eat that much, but when you DON'T get food, you will not feel good! I packed a lunch yesterday, but did not have time to eat. THE OIL IS COMING! We have tarballs on the beautiful white sand beaches in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. I have lived here all my life and NEVER thought I would see this day, it will be a LONG time before they are clean. :tt1: We take some things for granted like a beach, that it will always be pretty! We have to pitch in and work hard to make sure that this is done. I am trying to do my part. Many good people will be out of work because of this, so maybe the cleanup will help them replace income they have lost. I feel very blessed to have grown up on these beaches! :sad:Very Sad Day to see it come to this! I will take some lunch tho or snacks for the day tomorrow, short day tomorrow, but it is my husbands birthday and I will take him out to eat tomorrow night.

God Bless you I will pray for your day and continued success. This is great! Happy for you!
  21. Happy Birthday! Great Words of Wisdom to live by! We must all learn to be content with the Skin we are In! God made us all different! Good work, just keep on keepin on!
  22. Had fresh cantelope and watermelon tonight! The cantelope was as sweet as sugar and I only eat the middle out of the watermelon! My kids all know, Mom gets the middle! Ha! I wanted to go to the beaches here in the Panhandle of Florida before they are oiled up, and not with suntan oil either! Yuk! Sad for us! I grew up swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, and I am my kids and grandkids are gonna miss it!
  23. I went on a cruise one time and did not take a fill, I could have and decided not to, then, I did not overeat, gain any weight and ate what I wanted. This was only 4 months after my surgery. The trip was to Mexico, I just felt really stuffed after each meal! LOL (A small portion at that!) I just came back after 9 1/2 months of being banded from a Cruise to Alaska, (Guess we do cruise a lot! HeHe) and had a fill right before I left to go. OK, it was only .02cc's! Little did I envision any problems there! To my utter surprise, I would have been better off to wait, cause, and this is from my Dr.! When you are stressed, cortizone is released into your system, you tense and your stomach SWELLS, YES and this dear tightens the BAND! I was so tight from the hurrying to get packed, make the flight to Seattle, ETC ETC ETC, Worried about taking Protein Powder and could I get skim milk, just everything until I made it worse. I don't love flying (height thing) and by the time I boarded the ship! Sick the whole time! Throwing up at every meal, could not even get Ice Cream to stay down, or anything! When I got home, I RAN to the Dr. and he put me under Flouroscopy and saw the inflamation and irritation from all the vomitting and spitting up! He withdrew .o4ccs and I have been able to go back to feeling like I have some nutrition, energy and I have lost 5 1/2 lbs to boot. From My past experience, I can truthfully say, I would put it off for a week, go have fun, don't overdo it, but you will be RELAXED and can Enjoy. And by the way! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! What an Honor for you, Icing on the Cake if you WIN and I pray you do. Post some of your photos in an Album for us if you can!
  24. The Adkins Diet is great for before Surgery, I followed it too and lost about 15 lbs before the date of my surgery, it helps to shrink the liver and keep it out of the way, no carbs is not really good for us all the time, but temporarily it is! I used the Adkins even after the surgery to speed up my weight loss and keep my protein intake up, but brought my carbs up gradually to 50-60 grams per day and I feel satisfied. I have lost 85 lbs in 10 1/2 months and still losing only about 5 lbs. per month. I am content and happy with that, Welcome to the LapBand for Lifers Club! God Bless and keep.
