Funny stories?
Hey. We NEED a bariatric food critic. I was just saying that on another thread. At least I do need someone to tell me what’s good and where to go for stuff that I can actually eat. I need variety and Thats tough. Please please start a thread post surgery when you can eat normal food again with products and restaurants, etc. a bariatric friendly food critic.

March 2022 Surgery Buddies
At least yours will be gone. I was due to be on mine and I skipped the white pills on my bc to try and keep it away but had never tried that so I was worried the whole time that it was going to start all the way up to surgery day. And afterwards too really. It never did thankfully but I would’ve much rather just had it the week before and been done with it.

healthy choices at popular US fast food places
That would be stressful food getting stuck when your in public but at one year out from VSG I do dine out. I mostly get salads so far but I study the menu and nutrition info online for a while before I go. One thing that helps is I usually have my big meal at dinner but on days that I dine out for lunch I will have a small dinner (whatever I would have had for lunch).

Snow crab was one of my first soft foods. It’s delicious. I like it better than lobster unless I can get my hands on Maine lobster.

They run pretty good sales on snow crab legs around the holidays. Just watch the sales papers.

Thanks for that. I was telling my aunt the other day that we need a bariatric food critic here to compile all the tips and tricks for eating out. Looks like someone started.

Compression shirts
They make arm sleeves that are technically s designed to protect your skin from the sun but I bet they would work. Just search sun sleeves or UPF sleeves. Oops sorry didn’t realize this was the guys room but hopefully that helps anyways. Lol

Weight loss stall
We wouldn’t have anyone to talk to. Lmao

Nerves!
I doubt there is much in your labs that would make them deny you. People with far higher BMI’s and many more medical problems get this surgery. They are a higher risk of course but they do the surgery with hopes of improving some of these medical issues.

Hair falling out
From what my team said. Nothing will help with the hair loss. The supplements will help with the hair that grows back in to make it stronger and healthier but it won’t help the accelerated loss unfortunately. I wonder for those reading this that are pre op if taking it pre surgery would help prevent it??

Pregnant eight months after vsg
There are people who have posted that they got pregnant on here but I don’t think many stuck around cause I never really heard anymore from them. First off, congratulations. I would contact my team and let them know I was pregnant and speak frequently with the nutritionist to make sure you are eating the right things for you and baby.

Menopause
I don’t have menopause yet but I sweat because of a medication I am on and post surgery I was hoping to be cold all the time but I still sweat ALOT. I don’t think it always helps.

Gastric sleeved on Sunday 3/13/2022
Do you feel nauseous? Perhaps an anti nausea Med will help or another one if that’s one you can’t keep down already.there are also anti nausea patches you put behind your ear. Definitely talk to your team.

Reflux pain, discomfort, etc
Some people have gas pain post op for a short time (it’s from the gas they pump into you for the surgery) but if it continues I would definitely talk to your team about a PPI. I was fortunate and didn’t have any but people swear walking and gasX help.

Weight loss stall
Stall as definitely par for the course and the above mentioned three week stall is probably your culprit. If you are eating according to plan or as you say 7-800 calories there is no way you are not in calorie deficit so you will lose. Most people after stalls lose a few pounds real quick so it almost balances out. For now try to stay off the scale if it is messing with your head but just stick to your plan and the stall will lift.

estimated weight loss
Chances are the weight loss will slow and she will level out naturally as she gets closer to a healthy weight but if not she can always work with the nutritionist to add in healthy calories to get to a balance that we call maintenance when she gets to a weight that her and her doctor feel is best. Some people shoot for a weight that is ten to 15 pounds lower than they want because of regain that happens to most of us.

Dailey Harvest
I have not researched their smoothies (I tried but it wants me to enter my email) but if you just want to add fruit and veggies why not make your own? I make them with fruit and I buy some frozen fruit at Walmart. Just add a bit of frozen, a bit of fresh and a splash of water and it makes an excellent smoothie. You can also add a bit of Splenda if needed. And tip if you rinse things right away it’s much simpler cleanup.

Constipation - Warning TMI
I am one year out and I guess I eat enough food now portion wise that I get my fiber in naturally but Post op I struggled with constipations. I also took benefiber daily and after three days with no movement I took milk of magnesia. Luckily I only had to take the MOM once because the daily benefiber did the trick. I used the Walmart generic which is powder form so I eventually weaned myself off of that and now I am regular without it.
