  1. Sugar free popsicles help too when you are hungry and they contribute to fluid goal.
  2. Well the gurgling stomach takes a while to get used to but for me it is not hunger at all it is actually my stomach digesting. It actually starts while I am still eating. Some people do still have true hunger post op but it is only a few. If you are really hungry though some say that warm tea helps.
  3. I can’t believe you didn’t like the ricotta bake. I guess we really do have different tastes. I lived on that stuff. Not sure if your team allows it but I was also allowed mashed potatoes. I guess because you are eating such a small amount it’s okay during purée phase. Basically you can purée any soup that you like though. I mean technically you can purée anything but purée soup is less weird than purée steak dinner. I just couldn’t do the latter.
  4. I second the idea to go to a doctor to document that it is a true medical issue. I don’t envy what you are going through now but you will hopefully be lucky in the long run that you do have enough of an issue that insurance will likely cover removing it. In the meantime, I have heard people mention the under armor products or similar.
  5. I wonder if it was the texture of the food or if it was the oils and stuff they use to cook it in at restaurants? Either way I agree steer clear for a while and maybe when you do try it again try eating the ingredients at home first one at a time and without all the extra oils and stuff. Many people do not tolorate rice well post op. I am fine with it but many say it just sits too heavy.
  6. I would call their office and let them know. Maybe you need a stronger antibiotic or a longer course of it??
  7. You may have to ask her if you can continue to see her beyond The evaluation or if she can recommend someone else if she is too booked.
  8. I’m sure it will be fine.
  9. I think it will be okay but I would tell the doctor because better to have to reschedule than for it to cause some issue during surgery.
  10. As we get closer to a normal BMI weight loss does slow down. For me it slower about 20, but Now I am 9 pounds from “normal” and I am stuck!! I don’t do a lot of exercise either other than walking. It is possible it’s just a long stall but if it doesn’t break soon you will have to explore the possibility that you have put yourself into maintenance. At that point you will have to log and see exactly how many calories you are currently eating and consider cutting them by a bit to start the loss again. You say you eat three small meals and don’t snack much but you would be surprised how much the calories can vary based on that. Maybe before cutting calories speak to your dietician because of the low BP and blood sugar (I am not experienced with those).
  11. I agree it’s probably just a typical stall. Your lucky because most have them around three weeks out. Im sure the anemia is depleting your energy as you said. Hopefully adding a supplement will fix that fairly quick. Just keep sticking to your clinics plan and your loss will start again.
  12. I am also on bipolar meds that are not notorious for weight gain but they caused it in me. I have lost weight post sleeve but am currently sitting about 9 pounds from normal bmi and stuck. My team says this is not totally surprising to them because as they warned me, people with bipolar disorder statistically do not lose as much as others with the same surgery. I am still trying but I have accepted that this may be it for me. I think it’s the meds competing with the surgery and the surgery wins but the meds still kick in and decrease it effectiveness by just a bit.
  13. It is so nice to be able to fit in smaller clothes and even better if they are ones you liked enough to save for years hoping to fit back in. I saved quite a bit and just recently went through the boxes And it was like Xmas but free. ?
  14. It sounds like the colonoscopy is a good call. I hope they figure it out soon.
  15. Yea for me it was only the sweetness of the protein shakes I disliked and I have tried things I used to not like and I still don’t like them so no real change in taste buds for me either unfortunately.
  16. Did you get any answers frOm the doctor? I hope so.
  17. Usually the reason they send you for a sleep study is because sleep apnea is one of the things that insurance company considers a comprbidity that they will pay for the surgery if you have. I doubt whether you use the machine or not will hold up your surgery. I can’t think of why it would anyways. I mean if you needed one and just didn’t go and get it that may be another thing but they are just backordered or whatever you can’t help that. I’m sure they will tell you to bring your cpap machine to the hospital to use but obviously you just can’t if you don’t have it.
  18. Yay!! Just know that you will probably have a couple more but those will break just the same.
  19. I’m so sorry you are going through so much all at once. Your hormones are all our of whack right now too which isn’t helping I’m sure. You probably won’t be able to chug a whole bottle but you will be able to swallow a couple or a few sips at a time eventually. I am actually back to being able to drink the same as pre op. Have you tried the clear protein drinks or sneaking unflavored protein into your food? There are also some protein soups and stuff by Unjury that people have said are pretty good on here. As the previous poster said buyers remorse is not at all uncommon immediately post op. I was tired and had to take naps everyday for a couple of weeks.
  20. I forget how lucky I am to have supportive people around me. That being said I didn’t tell my mom until after I had the surgery for just that reason. I wasn’t sure how she would react. Turns out she was just very curious about it and still doesn’t really understand but that’s better than what you are dealing with. I’m so sorry. It sounds to me like they may actually be a bit jealous that you have set yourself up to succeed. Perhaps that makes them not love what they see when they look in the mirror so to speak. Regardless of why they are acting the way they are though you didn’t do any of this for their approval. Just try to keep that in mind.
  21. Yea I feel the same. It’s just super humid here. I kept hoping for the polar bear club to invite me like everyone else who’s had the surgery but for some reason I still get HOT!!
  22. I literally had to sit and watch the clock second hand in order to eat slow as they expected. Fortunately I was not one of the people that the speed of my eating caused me any discomfort. I do still measure my food though and eat slow if it’s something I’ve never had just so I don’t eat past full.
  23. Okay I got the thread going, now what? I have no clue how the chat rooms even worked. Anyone who has ideas for topics feel free to chime in. I’m sure you guys don’t want just me replying to you, lol.
