  1. If you can have salads there are tons of options. I have been trying salads at the various restaurants and tasting their recxomended dressings with them and some are surprisingly good. I of course get chicken on my salads but you could do them without. A couple favorites are Chick-fil-A’s market salad and Wendy’s apple pecan salad. They both have fruit and sweet vinigarette dressings. Two things that I never even tried pre surgery but actually enjoy now. I am a year out and I mostly just eat the toppings off the salad but I have a little of The lettuce mixed in. Usually I am full anyways so I skip the rest of the lettuce.
  2. Yea I honestly don’t know enough about it to answer those questions. I did take what the doctor recommended for me and I’m guessing it was supposed to be calming because it was for anxiety.
  3. Good to know. If I ever do give it another try I will have to ask for sativa or hybrid. I am honestly not even sure what I got but There was no fighting the cravings with the stuff I got. I’m sure it was supposed to be calming though because I got what the dr recommended for anxiety.
  4. Awe, your pup sure picked a good human to take care of her. I will definitely look into it. Thanks.
  5. Do you mean pre op or post op?
  6. I tried it for anxiety but I honestly don’t even know if it helped because I was too busy eating everything.
  7. Congratulations. Enjoy your pedicure. You earned it.
  8. Congratulations. You have done amazing!!
  9. I tried medical marijuana pre op and it gave me the munchies. Doesn’t it do that for you guys? Is there some secret to not eating everything in the house??
  10. Let us know if you do try those baribox meals. I am curious about the taste. I still think they should show the food in something other than a bag on their website to make it look more appealing but I have a feeling it’s will taste good.
  11. I am currently 9 pounds from normal BMI and my stomach is still holding more fat than the rest of my body. I think that’s a thing as we get older that we store it in our bellies.
  12. Alieve was the only thing that helped the withdrawal headache for me. Can’t have it post op but you can pre op.
  13. Yea, The other day I ordered their half salad and half sandwich and the 1/2 salad was enough for me too. I saved the sandwich for dinner. Good idea to order it with extra chicken though and just save half because it’s more expensive to do the pick two than to do a whole salad or whole sandwich.
  14. Wow. I wish my stomach was that small. I am a year out and i Can easily eat a normal serving. Still not restaurants triple servings but more than I would like.
  15. I did not smoke immediately pre op but I was a past smoker. I just wanted to say that if you do want to quit and are able to quit for a couple of weeks for the surgery it gets much easier to choose to remain that way. You have to want to do it but if you do, don’t sell yourself short just because it’s hard in the beginning. For me it got easier every day I went without.
  16. Most likely. It’s an insurance requirement for most and still a surgeon requirement for some that self pay.
  17. My copycat Panara Bread Cobb salad. Minus the pickled red onions and substituted ranch yogurt dressing. 377 calories
  18. Wha t ate the requirements of your pre op diet. Usually they are pretty specific.
  19. Congratulations on being sober going on 10 years. If I were you I wouldn’t get too hung up on the label (unless having a name helps you somehow) if you have any type of disordered eating I would see someone who specializes as such. Not all therapists are equipped to work with disordered eating. I know it’s not easy thinking about establishing a relationship with someone else but if your therapist doesn’t happen to work with disordered eating as well I would really consider it as it is a very specialized field and you want to set yourself up to have the most success post surgery. I am not saying to replace your therapist. Just see someone else as well for disordered eating.
  20. I am sorry for your loss and that you gained weight. As others have suggested your tool is still there you just have to get back In your groove with your nutrition and exercise. I agree that where ever you choose to begin with the gym is a great start by just making it a habit getting there (I could take my own advise here). I think your idea to talk to someone may be your best. Keep posting your progress here as I’m sure you will have several of us here in your corner along the way.

  22. Living in constant fear about food is no way to live and I’m not sure you are going to be able to maintain this lifestyle once your hunger hormones come back. It may be a good idea to speak to a bariatric therapist and find a happy medium between the all Or nothing thinking you seem to be experiencing. I hope you find some peace with all of this soon.
  23. Glad you are doing okay. I assume some pain is to be expected it sounds like they did quite a bit in there.
  24. I have heard good things about that baribox as well on here in the past. Never tried it but it seems like a great idea for us. Seems like they would show the food on a plate on their website and it may look more appetizing.
  25. I Prefer the premiere protein premixed shakes. I tried their powders but it just never did mix up quite right for me. I like the caffe latte shake and still have one for breakfast daily at a year out.
