What's Your Food Nemesis?
Pizza. I could eat it for every meal for the rest of my life if I had to. Also any type of desert really. I don’t really crave them but if I see them I can’t resist.

Advice!
I had a couple of food funerals and then did really good on the pre op diet. I was worried there were things I may never be able to eat again. At one year out though I can eat anything I ever did.

Video of surgery?
I’m not sure if I would want to see all that but I do agree for 20k it should be included. Lol

Intro and question
I am so sorry to hear you are not getting support in your family. You will find tons of support here though so stick around. If you feel you must get your sister on board, I suggest taking her along to one of your appointments. The doctors know that having a support system is important so they shouldn’t mind taking the time to answer some of her questions.

Eating
Setting alarms is a good idea but also having a schedule helps. Easily out I would “eat” at 9-12-6 and had “snacks” at 3 and 9 so I was “eating” every three hours. At a year out I still stick to this same schedule. Your team mah require more or less snacks or whatever but come up with something that works for you and stick to it. This way when the hunger comes back you are in the habit of eating before you should get super hungry.

Weight loss starts when?
I weighed exactly the same day after hospital but many people do gain and some lose. It just varies like our bodies.
-
pain medication
You may be one of the people with very little pain afterwards. I woke up on pain meds and asked them to take me off of them because I was in so little pain. They said when the nerve block wore off the pain may get worse but it never did.

Tracking vs mindful/intuitive eating?
I started out logging calories. Now I pretty well know what meals fit within that calorie range and I can eat any of those measured meals without having to think about it. But if I have anything new or out if the ordinary I have to figure it out. Measuring and counting is the only way I have ever lost calories. My intuition must be defective lol.

Weight loss
Congratulations!!
-
Doc app
Delightful surprise I’m sure. Keep it up.
-
interview
Absolutely. I was extremely nervous through the whole process. It’s worth it though.
-
Calories
Some people say that hot beverages such as tea help when they are hungry.
-
interview
It’s a medical decision not a personal one. It’s not like a job interview where they are judging your personality and All that they just want to know you are healthy physically and mentally to withstand the surgery and the lifestyle changes you will need to make post surgery.
-
Carbs
You will probably find that very nutritionist or dietician has a different stance on what you need to pay attention to. Probably the best rule of thumb will be to go by what you team suggests and stick with that as long as it works for you.

Are you asleep during gastric sleeve or sedation
I met with the anesthesiologist in the hospital the morning of surgery but yes, general anesthesia for me in the US as well.
-
Utter regret
I am so sorry that you are feeling this way. There is tons of support here for sadness and moodiness but if you are suicidal I agree you need to call the suicide hotline right away, please. Once you are out of immediate danger there is tons of support here but right now you need someone local who can keep you safe.

Post op necessities
It looks like people got you covered for at home. I will second not stocking up on too many protein shakes. Our tastes can change, especially sweet things and I had to give away a couple cases of them. For the hospital an extra long phone charging cord and pajama pants to wear under your gown as your up and about. I used mens extra big ones and they were comfy enough to keep on (didn’t rub anything because I woke up from surgery with a binder on my stomach).

Feeling bloated....why ?
Did you maybe eat more salt than usual?? That’s the only thing I can think of.
-
How long does it take to eat normally at a normal pace?
I have the opposite problem. I can eat faster and more than I would like to so I have to keep trying to slow down and measure my food. I agree we are all different but the grass is not necessarily greener over here. I think as time goes by you will be the one in a better place.

Laparoscopic vs. Robotic surgery?
I admit I don’t know a ton about it but I think I would go with robotic because robots are so precise. I had very little pain post op and i told the NP that I like to think that was because I did so good on the liver shrink diet and she said she is sure it was part of it that my liver was small and out of the way. Well if that is true then I’m guessing a robot could manipulate things around with even less bumping and bruising meaning less pain (I assume). This is also assuming that a doctor is right there ready to go if something goes wrong.

Negative IgG, spike antibody test four months post-vaccination (J&J)?
Is this the test to see how much of the vaccine you have in your body?

Surgery
I just asked my husband and he said they called him after like 2 1/2 hours and said that everything went fine And then after like five hours I texted him and said I was awake. I was awake and up walking before that but then I was in and out of sleep when I texted him I know I was in my room already.
-
Surgery
Good. Glad to hear you are doing relatively well. Keep walking to get the gas out.

My hunger is back and I’m gaining.
Yea I’m not eating bad food either. I am just eating more of the food I have been eating because I am still hungry. I did lose one pound though so I’m hoping I at least won’t gain anymore. I know One pound could be water weight but I’m cautiously optimistic.
