  1. What makes you think that you will develop another hernia? Did you read somewhere that is common or something?? I don’t know anything about it but I would express your exact concerns to the doctor and let them give you statistics to help make your decision.
  2. I was able to drink the protein water so I never tried it but there are some broths out there that have protein in them. I want to say it was Unjury was the brand?? Maybe that will work for you. Don’t give up. Their are sooooo many protein products out there. You will find something. Have you asked your doctor for something for the nausea. I bet That would help too.
  3. You have lost 85 pounds since surgery, congratulations. You may just be in a stall. I believe they typically last a week or two but have heard many people on here have them last three weeks or even a month. If you are sticking to your plan 100% it is just a stall and it will lift soon. If you are winging it you may want to start logging your calories and measuring things again just so you have that info to give to your nutritionist when you speak with them if the stall does not break soon.
  4. Do they post the nutritional info? I only ask because some of the smoothies at tropical smoothie seem harmless but if you pay attention they are over 700 calories and that’s before you start adding stuff. Some of their food is the same way. That’s why I had to study the menu online before I went.
  5. I was not even given a calorie goal for the purée phase. You are eating such small portions you shouldn’t be able to eat too much.
  6. I just wanted to update. I ended up going and I got a Thai chicken salad 370 calories and the Jetty junior smoothie made with Splenda 80 calories. I drank the smoothie on the way home and just had the salad for dinner. They were both really good. So SOME of the stuff on the menu is high calorie but not all. I guess it’s like anywhere you go really.
  7. I have bipolar disorder so my meds made me a slow loser but I am sitting at five pounds from a “normal” bmi. I keep saying that I may have to add in some exercise to lose the rest. I am very happy with my progress though and even if I didn’t lose anymore I would consider the surgery a success for sure. Trust the process. It works.
  8. Tomorrow will be my one year anniversary since my sleeve surgery and all I can say is that it suck’s but it is SOOOOOOOO worth it and that it gets easier once you get to purées.
  9. Try doing a puzzle or a craft or anything other than tv. TV has so many commercials and food scenes that it makes it harder.
  10. I didn’t realize until post surgery that I have a good addiction and I am still working on it. I have searched all over in my tiny town and can’t find a therapist that specializes in disordered eating but if you can find one many people swear it helps tremendously.
  11. That’s the second time I have heard of that thing and everyone raved about how well it works. I’m glad it worked for you.
  12. You probably have never had reason to wear one before but you would be amazed the difference a good push up bra will make. I got tiny implants many moons ago when I was thin and I still wore push up bras. Hopefully that will make enough of a difference but if it doesn’t then I would talk to the doctor and let him know you are unhappy for certain.
  13. Hello and welcome. How cool it is that you will be doing this journey together. It’s a life changing one for sure.
  14. So you are allowed Coke Zero? My surgeon said medically I am allowed but they still strongly suggest to steer clear because of the correlation between soda (even diet) and obesity even though they have no idea why they just know it happens. I am just curious what other countries doctors are saying about soda because I do miss my Coke Zero on occasion. If I know myself I will not be able to have just one or two though.
  15. Does the grilled chicken have that sweet taste that the breaded chicken does? I don’t love their breaded chicken because of the sweet taste and wondered about the grilled but haven’t tried it yet.
  16. Congratulations on your loss so far. Hopefully your goodwill is set up better than mine with jeans. At Mine they are in no order whatsoever and they are so crammed on the rack it’s near impossible to sort through. I spent two hours trying to go through and still went home empty handed. If yours is bad too you could also try tjmaxx if you have one for jeans. I found some off brand jeans there for 20 bucks and even the Michael Kors jeans I found were $25 and they weren’t even on clearance. Its doesn’t compete with goodwill deals of course but I was surprised at the reasonable prices.

    Awesome. Congratulations.
  18. Well the timing sure sucks but if it is kidney stones at least that is something fairly easy to treat and it’s not something that will require another surgery. Hang in there.
  19. I live in a small town so I have to order a lot of things like that to try and hate to do it as well because of the quantities I have to waste if I don’t like it is money down the drain. I finally had to just change my mindset to one that this is something that is for my health because I would try a prescription and not worry about possibly losing money. Good nutritious food is almost the same as medicine for us. I also donate what I don’t use so I don’t feel like I am wasting food. The shakes I took in to the surgery center and asked them if they could give them to someone who could use them.
  20. Wow that must’ve been disappointing but your almost there now.
  21. I found that the ramen noodle packets made a more flavorful broth. I just tossed the noodles and used the flavor packets.
  22. Post op you will probably do a lot of those. Everything else except the premier protein clear fruit punch flavor was way too sweet to me post of (I don’t like peach but assume it’s sweetened with same product). Then eventually I found their caffe latte shake. It’s not too sweet either. It has caffeine in it though.
  23. Hersheys makes zero sugar chocolate if you are the type that will be satisfied with just a small amount (Walmart) Or also quest makes candy bites that are expensive but they satisfy chocolate craving and they have protein in them at least (target and Amazon).
