Thank you for that. I like how you did the butter size and ball bearing size and their weight, that was super. I still see fat but my body fits into much smaller sizes than I thought for my weight.

I am very happy for your doctor's visit. Then to go to the gym and move the body, super! You're back. You took a quick break and returned.
  3. Good luck Wednesday. I hope you are no longer sick.
  4. I get out of bed very late and have a protein shake for breakfast. I use 2 scoops with milk. I use lots of ice to make it real thick. It fills me for 4-6 hours. Today I had the shake so late, I never had lunch but had a nice dinner around 6pm. The shake really fills me. I hate eggs so my before band breakfasts were carbs. I don't miss them at all even though I do still have bread sometimes. Maybe try the shake. Good luck with your eating. Maybe ask your dietitian for help and suggestions.
  5. I am so sorry to hear you are having such problems with the band. I hope you get to see him tomorrow. good luck with everything.
  6. Children are the best and you're very lucky.
  7. So happy to hear you're doing fine. Walking around the mall so soon is brave of you. Use heat for the gas pains. When is the wedding?
  8. tonight I had my support group. They had a sleep doctor and she talked about the different kinds of sleep and how having the surgery does change people sleep. I know I sleep much better and hub said I don't snore anymore. Also, I no longer take 2 hour afternoon naps. Next meeting we are having a tasting party with new products. I will let everyone know about the new items. Then in May is a cooking demo. Most people in the crowd have not had any surgery yet. Some couldn't decide what they wanted. So being me and talkative I said the band is the best. One man had bypass a few years ago and loves it and he was with his sister who is scheduled for the sleeve. Another man, no surgery yet, said his brother had the by pass and never smoked. He now is a chain smoker and said the by pass causes addiction. I don't know anything about that. Interesting. I really enjoy the meetings and listening to other people's stories, pros and cons. Do all of you go to your meetings? My hospital is 5 miles from my house, which makes a big difference. I told the director of the office about this site and that she would learn a lot about people's thoughts. Enjoy your evening everyone.
  9. Very sorry to hear about the family's loss.
  10. Wonderful! I hope you have another date with the "gentleman".
  11. That is wonderful!!!! I have done that a few times and it is a great feeling to feel full with smaller portions. You're doing great.
  12. no straws forever. It has to do with too much gas into the body.

i think you're fine. Some people don't have scales and only know what they weigh when they go to the doctor. And then there is me, who weighs myself about 6 times a day. I know my measurements are changing faster than the scale and I am fine with that. I don't expect to lose weight real fast and didn't get on me real fast either.
  14. You're very funny. Thanks for the smile. Glad you could work it off. My doctor doesn't allow straws, does yours?
  15. Going to the gym made me laugh. I think it is great that you solved your own bad eating. I once tried freezing a shake and it was awful.

I was out today driving with my husband and we were talking about food. He is a diabetic. He said he would love a bowl of hot fudge and said to me, I am sure you do too. I said no, don't want to even have a taste. I am clearing my head of all my old favorites. Like buying fresh made bread and eating a loaf before I even get home from the store. Or having wonderful bread in a restaurant and eating more than one basket full. Bread is my very best friend. I still do have it in restaurants but have totally changed how I eat it. One restaurant I only eat the end crusty parts of the bread not the doughy parts. I know, it is still bread but it takes me longer to eat and I need my friend. Another friend of mine was my pint of ice cream almost every night and I added almonds and sometimes chocolate chips. I only have my SF Popsicles now. I hate fast food places so that was never a problem. I do miss really great french fries but I now have a small amount of mashed potatoes instead. I really really want to be thinner. I don't know why this time is different than the other 100 diets/weight loss programs, but this time I am going to be healthier and thinner. I hope you all agree and let's do it!!!!!!!! together. Have a wonderful evening everyone.

me again. I told my husband about your clothes shopping and the sizes. yesterday I bought the size 16 pants and he told me to try size 14 elastic waist pants. I did and they fit!!!!!! The store just didn't have black ones. Now I have to search for black. Thank you, thank you for sharing your shopping because if you didn't I would not have tried a smaller size.

Absolutely amazing and good for you. I feel the same way about the scale. I take my measurements once a month and they have gone down. I went shopping yesterday for a pair of black pants and they fit perfect-size 16. I was a size 18-20w a year ago also. You will look perfect in your new clothes in FL.
  19. Feel better. Call your doctor, is true. I have a cold right now. My PCP told me to take children's liquid Mucinex. Also adults liquid Tylenol I have been given before. I suck on cough drops but I also have had the band since July.
  20. I think you will do fine. We all went through it and we are all alive and doing great. I am much older than you and don't want to voice my opinion but I am, please do not tan. I had a friend, 1 year older than me, and she died because of cancer from a tanning bed. They are so bad for you. Get the spray on, the lotion just not the bed, please. You don't have to listen but I needed to say that. Sorry for inferring. Have a great day and you will be fine on the shakes.

My husband gave up meat 35 years ago for dieting-no he quit the health kick-but still no meat. Many years ago I made meatballs and turkey balls. He eats the turkey ones. My oldest son's friend ate over and I asked do you want meatballs or turkey balls? Eric, answered, I didn't know turkeys had balls. He was a senior in high school at the time. I love dumb kids.
  22. That's like the cookie crumbs at the bottom of the bag, aren't cookies, they are crumbs. That comment made me laugh. I log everything I eat into my Fitbit.
  23. That was great and honest. I am on the scale about 5 times a day and I will not throw it out like my son said to. The weight didn't appear in one, two or six months and it will not disappear that fast either and I knew that. If I wanted super fast weight loss I would have had the sleeve or bypass which I never wanted. This new way of eating is very doable and I enjoy it. My lunch today was smaller than usual, I am proud of myself for that. Have a great weekend.

For pre-op I could have a small meal a day and I spread it out. I would have my one cup of salad and an hour later the protein part. It helped me. Also, SF Popsicles are wonderful to have. I have them all the time. After dinner they are great. Good luck with the new you!
