How I got money for a new wardrobe
I have a great ebay story for you. My son's friend use to work in Boston and would go to Filene's Basement, it was a famous mark down department store every day during lunch. He would buy 100 pairs of designer jeans, fur coats etc. and almost never lost money. He would make about $5000. a month from this. My son would go clothes shopping in his closet and spend 1-2 hours in there it was so big. I need to use ebay for a lot of stuff. Thanks for the idea.

Day 2 Lots of bandaides
I looked like that too. I was banded the end of July and the stomach still makes noises every day and at bed time. I was told by some it is normal. Hiccups are normal also. Have you tried sugar Popsicle? They are great to have. Good luck.

Day 1,
Congratulations! The gas feels better when you apply heat, like a heating pad. The hiccups I still get and others have said it goes with the band. Any other questions, just ask, everyone is very helpful.

For the Love of Anastasia
I think you are a wonderful mother. When I had my Shih Tzu the first 2 months I had her I spent over $2000. on her eyes. They are our babies and family and that's it. I just don't do reptiles. I love her bow. Sorry to hear you won't be a grandmother from her.

the trainer at the gym
Good afternoon, I was on the stationery bike at the gym and the trainer came and talked to me and my husband. He said to really get in shape, no bike, no tread mill but cardio. Do exercise where you move and use weights is the best exercise. At the gym there is a back room where all the body builders go and he said they may be able to lift weights but most are in terrible shape because they don't move their body. Thought I would share this. He also said walking is not good for a lot of women with bone problems. My advice is also ask your own doctor first about everything.

Jan 30. 2013
Hello I could have written most of your thoughts. My husband is very ill for 1 1/2 years. I am with him 24/7 and sometimes I want to kill. He is finally getting better but is getting SSD and was told he can't work again. We now go to the gym together and he is feeling much better from the gym building up his weak muscles. Maybe try a gym with your husband and tell him it will help. My husband has so many illnesses that when he first got sick he saw 3-5 doctors a week. Don't give up your life, your children and grandchildren need you. I have 2 sons and 3 super grandsons. I would be lost without them. My youngest lived with me and his wife and 2 sons and cats for 10 months. I live in a 2 bedroom townhouse condo. But we still love each other.I always remember someone may be worse off than me. I still have my husband, who I love. We have been together since I was 15 and him 16 and married 42 years. I am not throwing him out. I have blown up at him getting so dependent on me. I also take care of a 68 year old retarded brother, my mother is 94 in a nursing home and I help with my MIL who is almost 90. Yes I do it all. I feel the BAND is what I did for me and no one else. You need to escape and have some a lone time. I try to get my weekly manicures and monthly pedicures, alone. The best thing is, I have no service on my phone, sorry I missed your call. I know I went on too long. I usually keep this to my self and thought I would share this with you. I hope I helped a little. Time for the gym.

Not the piano tune either.....
Very nice that you can use chop sticks. I do eat, at home, with a salad fork instead of the dinner size. I still eat fast. Bad ME.

I refuse to cave in
very nice you were great!! I would have eaten the cookie dough. That to me is the best. I can live without the cookies.

mind playing tricks on me??
Congrats on getting the band. I had the surgery in July and my stomach rumbles all day and night. Did your doctor give you Zantec to take for a month? Mine did. Maybe ask if you don't have it. It comes in liquid form. I was also given Colace in liquid and still take it. Good luck.

I'm ready to chew!!!!!
I know what you're talking about. I had the same thing happen. I wanted to chew something. I still enjoy the shakes, though, have one every day for breakfast.

What to pack for a low carb snack.....
I always have Zone protein bars in the car. They are great to have when hungry. The other night my husband had my favorite, gelato, and I had a taste, too sweet and did nothing for me. I eat out a lot and don't pay attention to what others order. Since the Band, my tastes have changed. Before I was on food right after the surgery it was my brother's birthday. He is mentally retarded and I took him out for a nice steak dinner and had an ice tea while 3 people ate. I survived. Good luck.

Life is so uncertain....
I am very sad to hear this. That is awful. I hope they get the people.

food items
I live in the Boston area and we have a famous steak house near by, Ken's Steak House. They make great salad dressings and marinades. Are these available in other parts of the country? I say no and my husband thinks, yes. I use their light Caesar dressing on meat, lamb, pork, shrimp etc. I don't use salad dressing on salad. I buy all their dressing for the family, though. They also make wonderful marinades, like their sesame ginger has zero sodium. I had salmon for dinner with the sesame ginger and my husband had one of their dressings on his salad. Enjoy your weekend.

Changing my diet with 6 kids around is NOT as hard as I thought
You're doing super. You're a smart mother when it comes to cooking. In my house, only 2 sons, I would make 4 different meals. My husband doesn't eat meat and I am a very fussy eater. Very proud of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st Time Eating Out
Nice eating out with your friend like you did before the band. when I get the hiccups my husband says, you ate too fast again. The stuck feeling is the worse. Good luck.

don't be scammed
I forwarded the letter to Alex and he took care of it. The person is banded from this site. I was dumb and didn't want anyone else to do it. I would never send money to any person with those stories about getting money if you help.

Am I dreaming?
WOW-under 200!! that is so awesome. One day I hope to see 199, just less than 1 pound for that but it is taking me over a month for that number. Keep up the great work!

day 4 post-opt
Very nice to hear you're doing better. The gas gets trapped in the shoulders. It is an awful feeling. Use heat.

don't be scammed
Happy TGIF to everyone. yesterday I got an email from a Lap Band person and they wanted me to be their friend and after some thought I sent my email. It was a SCAM! I told her/him to lose my email or I would call the FBI. I also sent am email to LapBand Talk about this. The person had her LapBand Talk name as:Lizza22. Be careful everyone!!!!!!!!! Time to go to the gym. My FitBit said I have walked 50 miles since I got it and that was in December. For me that is great. Enjoy your day. I am dog sitting this weekend, in the cold and tonight's snow, ugh!

Light At the End of the Tunnel...
My first appointment/support meeting was October, 2011. Then when I was finally approved my hospital was taken over by a big Boston one. So I had to go through a lot more appointments and finally had the band July 29th. I totally understand what you are going through. Good luck., When it finally happens it's great! I know it was the best thing I have done for myself. I wish I had done it many years ago when I was younger.
