  1. Wow...that was poorly typed. Sorry, I think you still can understand what it is supposed to say! Sometimes I hate typing on this smartphone!
  2. Whew!!! I would skip the parties at least! I had my surgery on a Thursday. I wax in bed all day Friday (with the exception of walking a bit around he house), and Saturday I slept most of the day! I couldn't even sit up on my own. My husband had to help me up until about Sunday, web I could sit up by myself! I didn't do anything for about a week!
  3. Don't tell if you don't want to. I told a few people at work because they would have wondered about my sudden behavior changes (pre op liquid diet, etc). I only told those closest to me because they would bring me food a lot like baked goods. I wanted them to understand why I couldn't participate with them in the food fests anymore. I am a teacher and there are a lot of celebrations surrounding food! I don't mind sharing my journey because hopefully it will inspire others. I have only had one person actually question me as to why not lose weight naturally and she was very polite about it. Do what you think is best for you, but definately don't stress over it either way! We have enough to worry about!
  4. Whew! I have to stop sampling at the grocery store! I was offered a piece of deli meat at publix (grocery store) today. My instinct told me to say no, but I have a hard time saying no to people offering me food still. Well I learned my lesson the hard way! I got stuck and it wouldn't pass...long story short I had to find the restroom and bring it up!
  5. It was still worth it though!
  6. I thought the lapband was worse!
  7. I agree...don't worry about calories right now. I am a little over a month out and have to be very careful because I could still go way over that! Enjoy it while you can! I have only had one fill and still have to restrict myself. I cannot rely on my band.
  8. I agree with the posts above. It only happened to me once and I pretty much said that I was doing it and I have struggled to long. I agree with not allowing the topic anymore.
  9. I haven't used it, but My card actually came from the lapband company. It looks like a plastic credit card and explains it is an implanted device etc. I wanted To make sure I had it when I flew, but I still didn't need it.
  10. Eggs just haven't set well with me. I usually docs protein shake for breakfast.
  11. I purred soups as allowed by my surgeon. At this stage he said I could had creamy soups as long as there were no chunks. I used my magic bullet. It was super easy and I found a good variety of soups. I would add soft goat cheese on top for flavor or to change it up.
  12. I mentioned it to mine a few years ago and it was quickly dismissed. His answer to everything was low carb diets. I went on and has it without his permission in July. Didnt even mention it to him again. I dot really care what he will say when I see him again say that I had it done!
  13. Spicy hadn't bothered me.
  14. Sounds like dehydration. I didn't drink enough water yesterday and woke up feeling the same way!
  15. It passes! Almost happened to me when I took my son to a Function at the public library about day 6! I had to keep running to the bathroom...pretty embarrassing!

  18. Don't be embarrassed of your weight! I was 251 when I started and I am still 223!!! Everyone is different with different body shapes and weights. We Are Really all the same here with similar struggles!! Good luck! I wish I Had done it sooner!
  19. I needed my husband when I got home. I went home day of and really needed the help and moral support. He was with me at the hospital too and he was able to help me when they made me walk around. However, the nurses could probably help you do that.
  20. I found if I don't drink enough water my weight loss Slows or I gain a lb or two. Could be water retention. Try upping your water intake.
  21. I had Surgery on June 14. I could have gotten a fill last week, but was out of town. I was starving too. You really just have to have restraint when it comes to eating. I was far from perfect and snacked too much i am sure. I am hoping this fill helps. my dr Said it should make a huge difference. Good luck!!!
  22. Just got my first fill. It was no problem at all! I was so nervous and the surgeon even noticed! He put 4 cc in my 10 cc band. I only felt a prick from the numbing shot. Other than that, no pain! Water went down fine after.
