  1. My dr said while wheat anything is fine and brown rice. I have has while wheat wraps, corn tortillas, brown rice, and while grain bread with no problems.
  2. I can't drink as much and am really scared to try! I heard that the Effects will be much greater with the band.
  3. My surgeon recommended benefiber.
  4. Thanks everyone! This all makes a lot of sense. It was just weird because up until now I have been eating fine! Thanks again!!
  5. Good question...I was sort Of Wondering when it would wear out too!
  6. Was banded 6/14. I have been eating regular food this week per my dr. I haven't had many issues with getting stuck and I have been very hungry (first fill not until 7/20.) I had a piece of Ezekiel break this morning and a Protein shake. I was hungry at lunchtime and heated up some leftovers. I had ground beef, soft boiled cauliflower, and some soft brown rice. I ate this lastnight with no problem. When I tried to eat at lunch, I could only eat a couple of bites before I felt like I was going to get stuck. I stopped and rested a while before trying again. When I tried again, I could still only get a couple small bites of each down without feeling sick. dinner rolled around and I decided to just have some probiotic yogurt drink. I got that down slowly. I felt pretty good so I decided To try a couple of kashi crackers. I have that same horrible feeling again like I am getting stuck. This is the first day since my surgery that I haven't been able to eat despite being hungry. Should I be concerned or just try again tomorrow?
  7. I took liquid pain meds until they ran out. At First it was around the clock and then it was only in the evening bc by then I was usually sore from the days events. Tylonal doesn't work for me, but apparently that is all I can have!
  8. Depends on the insurance. I know two people tht were banded and looked at gettin their stomachs done. One was approved by insurance and one wasn't. You will just have to see what you can figure out. I have also heard not to take no for an answer. You can repeal.
  9. Only thing I puréed was soup. I actually ate some baby food! I mostly stuck to things that didn't need to be puréed, like runny grits and oatmeal. I did protein shakes and added a little soft goat cheese to my soups for extra protein.
  10. I am on my 4th week post op. I tried doing some light crunches day before yesterday. I had no pain or discomfort, so I did the same thing yesterday morning. By afternoon time, I was in excruciating pain! My dr said I could exercise and gave no restrictions but I probably won't try again with the crunches for another few weeks!
  11. I had my surgery 6/14. It hurt like hell the first week. I've said on other posts, it was worse than my c sections! I am on week 4 now and am a whole lot better! Most times I feel like my old self. If I over do it, I still feel some pain. I am 27 lbs down from pre op diet weight. I can honestly say that the horrible pain I had that first week is paying off! Hang in there!
  12. If not full liquids, I would at least do soft mushy food. Hang in there and hopefully you can get ahold of your dr soon!
  13. My dr didn't specify but I know it was withi 4-5 days. Took it easy. Just try a few different positions to find what doesn't hurt!
  14. I just bought a pill crusher. For me it is easier to get it down fast. I have my liquid ready, dump the crushed pills to the back of my throat, then chase it down quickly with milk or water...whatever I am drinking.
  15. I get horrible pain that sounds like yours when I am hungry. I was banded a Month ago and if I don't eat it drink right when I get up I get the same pains!
  16. I get them a lot!!! Maybe I am drinking to fast!
  17. I get my first fill after I fly to Boston and back to fl! That has me worried!!
  18. I got a four piece kids meal today from chick filet! All I could eat was the nuggets and 1 fry! I am saving the lemonade for later. It was SOOOO good!
  19. I just do a regular chewable...not gummy
  20. I live in Florida and it is HOT! I would agree that hydration is extremely important and seems harder since I got banded. After a week at the beach last week, I started running a low grade fever, and was having symptoms like a kidney infection. After hydrating and resting for a full day, I felt a whole lot better. I would suggest finding a way to take in more water.
  21. Thanks. I checked my plan again and nothing is on it. I am also afraid if not getting enough. I know that can slow weight loss down just as much. My sample menu is fine, but I really don't like the choices they have! I have been trying to stick to it as much as possible, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks again!
  22. The first thing I remember coming out of surgery was wailing loudly and the nurse telling me repeatedly that I had to stop crying and stop moving or I would hurt myself! I have had anesthesia before and NEVER had that happen! It lasted a while in recovery. I guess I was fighting to get up. Once I was more aware of what was going on, I stopped moving and my wailing turned to tears and sniffles. I finally stopped but it was so bizarre! I think once I woke up I was more embarrassed than anything else. I also cried a little when I was havin to walk at the hospital. The pain was excruciating!
  23. I got an eating plan with suggestions, but I didn't get an actual number amount. I will look back through it to make sure. Thanks!
