Post Op #6 New Pain Around Band Area??

I'm in morning of day 6 of post op (banded this past monday 7/2) and I just woke up with a different type of pain near where band would be. It's like a sharp pain, like almost pulling pain when i turn. It's mostly on one side. It hurts a little now just laying, propped up a bit. It's not the gas pains I've been having. Is this normal? Anyone else have this?

I had two sips of Water and it seems to have gone down. And also last night was first night I didn't sleep propped up, but just flat on back.

I have this fear that the band slipped or something :-/

Almost 100% sure band did not slip, this is just your body healing stitches holding band are healing and pulling a little..Are you following post op diet. Really the way my Dr explained it he stitches the band in and for it to slip you have to be pretty reckless. And when it slips you know it , pain, food intake ,reflux, I have had that feeling in the begining of OMG what if its slipped and I think thats pretty normal when something new is in your body.

I still have trouble laying on my sides sometimes after I have eaten or drank something later at night then I usually do . It's just my good little buddy saying hello, I'm here . :P Good Luck and if you ARE DOING WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD TO DO YOU WILL BE FINE...............

I get horrible pain that sounds like yours when I am hungry. I was banded a

Month ago and if

I don't eat it drink right when I get up I get the same pains!

Thanks guys!

I have been following the diet exactly as dr says for fear of messing anything up. I'm a worry wort lol I also get bad hunger pains when I get up. It's just this was different pain and scared me a little. It's probably just healing. I'll see how the day goes. I fell back asleep and going to get up soon and see how it feels. Glad it's probably not the band slipping! I'm a worry wort, told you. Lol

I got up and it hurts when I stretch around the area. It's like to the left of my band area. It's probably just healing going on. :-/ it's not a nice pain. But I did have some shake already and everything has gone through ok.

I did weigh myself and have lost 8 pounds, even with the swelling instill have :) lol had to add that

i was also concerned about (pain/pulling) around my port site.

it's healing and forming scare tissue around the port itself.

i am just over a month out and the pulling feeling has finally stopped.

Most likely, you pulled an internal stitch, or are feeling some new scar tissue. But if something feels wrong, give your surgeon a ring, that is what we pay them for, even on the weekends. Mine came into my hospital room before my discharge to tell me specifically that. Don't mess around if it doesn't feel right. Go with your instinct.

I'd rather cry wolf and be assured it was gas, that assume it was gas and find out too late it was a huge infection raging away.
