Im having a similar issue! I was banded on the 25th and he put 5cc in the band at the time of surgery ..im so tight its painful to swallow water.My upper GI showed a pin stripe stream if liquid going through..So having 5cc in the band,swelling from the surgery and the gas in the chest, im having a difficult time...I absolutely can't burp at all, I don't know if that's common or because im tight. They said I can't get it un-filled for a few weeks. Does anyone know why that is?I don't think I can do this for a few weeks..

Same here,1week post op and chest feels much better today. Im constantly using the spirometer they sent home and it helped alot. The last week it was really tight and painful when I took deep breaths

I was banded on the 25th , my experiences so far..gas in the left shoulder and under my ribs(so uncomfortable) so im walking alot. Alot of pressure in my chest and when I take deep breaths, it started to make me nervous and i started regretting this whole thing. Using the spirometer helped alot. Today im feeling better (not %100) but better then yesterday . The first 5-7 days I hear are the worse, try to remain positive. Call the doc if u don't feel right.

Congrats, I was banded on the 25th.. what does your post op diet consist of? Make sure u are getting plenty of water.

I was banded today! Im experiencing the same gas issue/shoulder pain.. its not a horrible pain but it is uncomfortable ..good luck on this new journey :-)

The Doc said there is a big difference in doing the broth, I do believe hes talking about the sodium .. im gonna look for some low sodium broth I think..

Thank u ladies, He said keep the liquids light.. also No broth at all.. Just looking for ideas

I was banded this morning, everything went real well!! Very little gas pain and slightly sore in the port area... Doc said liquids only for 5 days (water,crystal light). Any other ideas on low cal liquids? ??
