Question?
if its near your port, it most likely is scar tissue building up around it. mine was very sensitive to the touch about a month out. it gets better. if in doubt, call the dr tomorrow and let them know. it will make you feel better. all the best

Questions About Calories
you are doing great with your pre op. i dont think your cal intake is (a huge deal) right now as you are pre paring your liver for surgery. on my pre and post op liquid diets (4 weeks liquids), there was not a calorie limit though in my mind, i know 3500 cals is a pound. id ask your dr on you cal questions if you are concerned, hang in there and all the best.

No Restriction At All!
just because you can eat whatever, do you really you think that is good? didnt over eating junk/high food food get you/me in this position to need wls surgery?? its a 3inch plastic band in your stomach. the real changes are mental. YOU have to make the band work. with that type of thinking, you maybe doomed before you even give yourself a chance.

Feeling Down :(
*** just because you can eat something doesn't mean you should. The very best thing you can do for yourself is make healthy food choices and stick to 1 cup or less of food per meal*** from mis73---excellent advice. one i take very seriously. it'll get better, just hang in there

Mushy Stage Recipes...
fat free refried Beans with a little shredded low fat cheddar cheese, add a packet of Taco Bell taco sauce (can be mild or medium I wouldn't do the hot yet!) - tastes just like Taco Bell beans and cheese! i had this just today for lunch. was eating this 3 weeks after surgery. keeps me full and hell, i like it (only exception, my shredded cheese is fat free)

Hiatal Hernia Repair & Lap Band Placement
MEMEMEE. I had a hernia (that I didnt even know I had) repaired. The dr told me when I woke up. I dont think I had any more pain (just kinda uncomfortable in my chest when I took deep breaths) but nothing those meds they were giving me couldnt fix. The pain in my shoulder for about 7 days hurt worse than the surgery. Otherwise, the repair was easy. At least it was to me. All the best.

Liquid Diet Pre And Post Surgery
This is the same diet I had (except I was not allowed grits. I wasnt allowed that until week 3). Day 4, it got easier. It will get better. Just keep drinking. Protein makes you feel full. SF popsicles saved me. I did 2 weeks all liquid after surgery also. So it can be done. Best of luck.

Lap Bands And Fills
I have a 14cc Allergen band. I have noticed many people w/different sizes and (Realize vs Allergen). Is there a big difference between the two? I noticed also that some (women) did not get the size band I did and nor some men. Is there a difference as to why I got a 14cc band? I asked my surgeon was it due to my (size) and he said no. I cant recall what else he said as it was I asked him the day I came out of surgery and well, I was just ((happy)). Also, just read about maxing out a band, does that happen? Do doctors fill in a band (completely)? Just curious. Thanks if you answer or respond.

Coke Zero & Coffee
well, since i started my pre op in May, i have not have any soda but i dont mind it so much now. each morning i do drink a small half decaf/half reg black coffee. most of the time i cant finish it. but no more soda for me. And my surgeon said about 6 months after surgery, wine or occasional beer is okay (but to go easy). Am glad, I like having a glass or two of wine on xmas eve and at Thanksgiving.
