when my gallbladder acted up, it hurt between my shoulder blades and on my back. a xray could tell you if gallstones are there. i hope you feel better.
  2. i am so sorry things are not going well. i will keep you in my thoughts/prayers. am here if you ever need me.
  3. your body will weigh differently because you eat or drink or go to the bathroom. so please dont start focusing on gaining 2 pounds and then losing three etc....it will drive you crazy.. as mis73 and sojo said, your are healing from a major surgery. losing weight is not what matters what now.
  4. i use whey isolate from walmart. 30 grams protein per scoop (more if you add milk) comes in many flavors. i love chocolate, cookies and creme and the new one peanut butter chocolate. i put in freezer and get it to slush stages. couldnt have survived 4 weeks liquid w/o this, i still drink one shake a day, usually for breakfast. they are 14.99 per container.
  5. my surgeon only uses allergen lap bands. so that is what i got
  6. is that the reason i had mood swings? hub will be relieved as he thinks that is the NORM w/me. who knows. each of us is different. i have highs/lows w/my moods/attitudes all the time. just par for the course. stay strong on your mental game. sounds like you are getting nervous. dont be. just think of what is to come. you getting healthy and getting well. what a great something to look forward too.
  7. i use my muffin/cup cake tins to make baby meat loaf. perfect size and weighs not quite 4 oz. i am off to check out that link you provided...
  8. just make sure the popsicles do not contain sorbitol. found out the hard way, it will give you the runs if ate (alot)
  9. i maybe getting my first fill on the 7th of august they do everything under the fluro also. is that like a big xray machine? do you stand/lay? does this help with (possible too much fill)? as you can tell, i havent had a fill yet so i am in the woods on this..
  10. girl, how did you know i needed to read this today?? love this....
  11. its pretty simple. you can eat (whatever you want) just in smaller amounts. its up to you if you eat high fat foods or make healthier choices. remember, eating junk and high fat/high calorie foods is what made most people get (overweight) and need surgery. so just having the surgery wont help you 100%. you got to change what you eat also.
  12. no tricks...the only tip i have is to not cheat. this is to help you shrink the liver for surgery. you can do this. if you are hungry, drink something (a Protein shake will feed your body). sf popsicles saved me during the pre and post op liquid diet. hang in there. each day you get closer to being done with the liquid
  13. how exciting. it will be here before you know it its more of a (mental thing). remember you are shrinking your liver in prep for surgery. take it one meal/one hour/one day at a time. no worries, you will do great.
  14. your are a beautiful person. so you gained . just start today doing better. drink alot (use crystal light or water) eat sf popsicles or sf jello and just do what you have to do. its a mental game. they want you lose weight to shrink your liver. so do try to do your best. am here if you need me.
  15. well, again, i was on liquids and so that is what happens i guess. again, the probiotic helped alot. align is what its called. i emptied the capsule into my Protein Shake.
  16. hey lap have heard that about the dr's and bypass surgeries. i dont know if $$ is involved but it could be. i am happy with my decision. i am sorry they made you feel that way. i guess you and i will just have to prove them wrong.
  17. fluids in and fluids out. i had the same problem i took a probiotic ti help with that and also immodium to help after my dr okay it for me, yes, it will get better ps-i still have a change of clothes at work ,just in case, i dont need it but just in case.
  18. oh kendric that is such great news
  19. my surgeon tried to get me to the bypass. my ins does not cover the sleeve and i was not interested in cutting my stomach. i admit when he was telling me, i felt he wanted me to get the bypass but i stayed true to what i wanted. i know all surgeries run a risk but this one just made me feel the most comfortable and i was honestly too scared to get the bypass. i had my band with plication done on june 6th and lost 40 pounds so far but i gained back alittle self esteem, yeah, i made the right decision.
  20. dont be scared. you are stronger than you think----you are about to make yourself well and healthy. you are right on the crusp of a new you. why be scared??? dont be.
