  1. CVS drug store sales a liquid tylenol for adults. 6.99 a bottle. (it is the CVS brand but same ingredients. I checked with my surgeon and the pharmacy. Hope this helps.
  2. keep drinking. (or eat sf popsicles, sf pudding, broths, drained soups).
  3. i had to tell my job as i was taking off those days following surgery and well being in my position here, they needed to know why i was off. i also told some close friends and my friends on this forum. hub told his friends about my surgery because he said he is proud of me. go figure. all the best
  4. just find the (position) that doesnt hurt....sorry, all i can offer.
  5. like Mis and Sojo stated, its okay. (my dr knows i do also). I drink one every morning because i am not hungry in the a.m. but know that i need (fuel/protein) to sustain me til lunch time. so i make my shake, throw into freezer til its milkshake like and drink on the way to work.
  6. My hub, USAF 25 yrs (retired) My son, USAF 2+ yrs and counting ME---USAF Wife & MOM
  7. the pre op diet is to help you shrink your liver for surgery. if the liver is too large, my surgeon said he wouldnt operate. that made me not cheat (not once). the only thing i can say is if you cheat, you are only hurting yourself. most of us w/the band or whatever WLS have (cheated) in the past on our (diets). that is why we are in this position. If you cheat now, are you always?? please note that if you cheat on the post op, you could seriously injure yourself. i understand wanting to have that dinner w/your friend. but is it worth it?
  8. How exciting I am sure just a wee pinch if anything. the unknown is making you more nervous (as i know i am ). make sure you tell me (us) all about it
  9. great news on the great LOSS. proud of you. Keep it up and continue to think positive.
  10. to my knowledge, liquids only for the first/second week out after surgery. i would advise to check with your dr or review your paperwork to make sure of this. eating too soon could hurt you and we dont want that to happen.
  11. hi samantha and welcome to this forum. there are great people here who will help answer any/all questions you have yea to your dad also
  12. like NC , my shoulder, neck and back hurt pretty well. thank heavens for meds they gave me (and standing in very hot shower). about 7/8 days out, i got to feeling much better. if pain is 9-10 scale, call DR asap.
  13. dont compare yourself to no one else. you are you. i cant lose like joshie blowfish either and i am losing weight my way and my pace. dont worry about the others. just follow your dr's orders and enjoy the ride. although right now its all liquid (i been there/done that) so i feel for you. hang in there
  14. wow, i am kinda surprised. my dr at the beginning wanted me to do the bypass (as my insurance does not cover the sleeve). i steadfast said no. to me, once they cut my stomach, there is no going back to what it was before. so i stood my ground. he advised me that this is merely a tool and not a save all. i chose to get the band as i am the most comfortable. my surgeon offered me the plication (at no charge) and it is a def good thing to me. its the sleeve w/o surgery. they just fold my stomach into itself and make it smaller. this decision is yours. if you dont want it, dont get it. the customer is always right and you are the customer. if you are uncomfortable with this guy, dont use him. you need to feel trust/confidence in the person who is performing major surgery on you. all the best on whatever you decide.
  15. so is it possible when you have fills, to not pb or vomit? that is really scary to me. (i read alot of complications from fills on here) and since my first one maybe in the next couple weeks) i am kinda on the fence teetering and wondering......
  16. well my co-workers and hub see me (every day) so i would assume its hard to tell. but his friends (who is doing my stone tile floor) commented to my hub that i have (lost weight). i cant see it myself when i look in the mirror but can notice it via the clothes i am wearing (looser/not as tight). and that is good enough for me. i say they will notice soon enough. it will happen
  17. i buy whey isolate at walmart (15 dollars a tub). 30 grams protein per scoop. comes in many flavors. chocolate (my fave) cookies and creme. def helped me during all my liquid diets (pre and post). i still drink one for breakfast daily w/ff milk. (add 8 grams of protein for the milk). if you freeze it, it is almost a milkshake of if u freeze longer, a slush. Tastes great and way less expensive then buying it from the drs office. (i bought one (same nutrition values and it was 30 dollars).
  18. yes, eggs are fine w/me. i scramble them (diced as small as can be) and eat w/ketchup or salsa. no problems yet. (i usually eat them for Breakfast on sat/sun)..other days its a Protein shake for breakfast. hope you can enjoy them again one day. have you tried the egg subsitutes? maybe that will be better for you? all the best..
  19. i wanted the lap band (and was not comfortable with the bypass as once they cut your stomach, there is no going back). even when the dr suggested the bypass for me, i stuck w/my guns and went with what my (head/heart told me). he also did the plication with my band (which is similar to the sleeve w/no cutting) and i am very pleased with my results so far. down 40 since June. research, ask questions and then ask so more but choose what is right for you. all people are different. i may not lose as fast as joe blowfish but i am loosing at my pace (and slower weight loss could mean.. less saggy skin as can happen w/the bypass). you are the one who has to do this, so only you can decide. do not compare what someone else has done. ..that is them... this is you. all the best GF.
