  1. yeah, i have mine set up for each month til next july also. thanks for answering as i am kinda new to this fill thing. havent had one yet but am trying to prepare myself.
  2. I am about to start getting my fills. My surgeon only does fluro fills (which is fine with me). Do we need to have any other approval for this type of fill? Tricare has already approved me 6 more visits until September. Please advise if you think that I need to get another type of approval from my Tricare. (we are tricare prime north as my hub is retired)
  3. i dont have any tips other than (dont do it). dont have the glass/cup or whatever near you when you drink is something i read. but to me, just dont drink. (i have sipped a smidge if i felt i really really needed too) but otherwise, nothing until about 30 min afterwards. its a mental thing. get the positive mental vibe going now. you can do this. (make it happen).
  4. I have three scars from the galbaldder (not including the one in my bellybutton), and six from my lapband, so my stomach looks like I've been sliced and diced!! **mine too***
  5. i had mine out about 7 yrs ago. same type surgery as my band/plication. (same type pain but only missed 3 days work) .. i had lost alot of weight and one day i ate some pizza.....yes its true, and the middle of the night, between my shoulder blades hurt worse than anything i could imagine. so off to ER we went and had emergency gallbladder surgery. they took it out and i have been fine since. let them take it and be done w/it. gallstones are no fun.
  6. i told my friends at work (as i had to take time off and answer a gazillion questions) and with me being manager for nationwide software company, they had to know--- bout it on my side. (not to mention my friends on the forum here). hub told his friends and when i asked why?? he said because i am proud of you. nuff said (tell whom you want or not, but remember this is about YOU).
  7. i wasnt nausea feeling but one time and put that melting tablet on my tongue to help.
  8. baby spoons/forks is a good idea. i dont use them. i do use a very small salad plate. portion control should be a mental thing. try not to eat over 1/2 to 3/4 cup at any given time. that is what i am doing now (and i do not have any restriction) but i am eating like i do. this forum is excellent for any questions you may have. if you can, get a book called the band wagon from Jean McMillion. she is on the forum alot and her book is what i call the band bible.
  9. *whose to say my surgeon is correct*......i would assume that your surgeon who knows you and is about to operate on you is correct. His is the only advice you need to follow as my dr is different and mis72 and dd's are different. so if any doubt, refer to your surgeon/doctor only. you will do just fine. all the best. just keep your head in the game.
  10. hey BiBi nice to meet you. i wish you all the best come friday here is to the new YOU.
  11. ok, what kind of dogs? and yes you will rock that bikini......just keep going
  12. 1. to continue losing weight, little by little so my skin dont sag 2. to be able to walk around the block pushing my baby granddaugher 3. to walk around the block holding my hubby's hand 4. to not be out of breath walking (anywhere) 5. to be able to do anything I want to & not be scared of people laughing at me
  13. havent been stuck yet or slimed, but i sure hope you feel (better)
  14. (((great news))) i know you will be a success
  15. a great link to read about (cheating on pre/post op diets) http://www.lapbandtalk.com/page/index.html/_/healthy-living/whats-so-bad-about-cheating-on-the-post-op-r78
  16. live on beans/veggies. those are the good things we banders can eat food is meant to be enjoyed (in small amounts when its high fat/high cal foods).
  17. you will do fine. i use whey isolate from walmart. i like the cookies and creme and the chocolate. i put mine in freezer (and use fat free skim milk) and its nearly like having a milkshake. how are you doing otherwise??
  18. may 18th i started my liquid and had surgery on the 6th. (i read your post about pre/post liquid diets). the purpose of the liquid is to shrink your liver for surgery. try not to focus on the amount you lose (although it is exciting and is a wonderful feeling ) if you cheat on the (diets) you are only hurting yourself. follow your dr's instructions as best you can as they are there for a reason. its hard but its more mental than (i am starving). the first days are the hardest....my head hurt, i got the shakes but i pushed through and so will you. if you can do the liquids, you can do this. if you want to make yourself well, you will think positive thoughts and none of i cant, i am hungry, i am starving talk, think i am doing this so i can have surgery and so i can heal myself and make myself well. thank you for the compliment on my weight loss. i appreciate that very much. you will get to that number soon. all the best and am here if you ever need me.
  19. yep, i would think it is the scar tissue forming (but i could be wrong). i am now heading toward 6 weeks post op and now my sharp/uncomfy pains have stopped. just move slower/slowly. i am sure you will be fine. if in doubt, or you are concerned, just give your dr/nurse a jingle. they will answer you i am sure. all the best
  20. ((sending hugs and feeling better love your way))
  21. after surgery, alot of people (including myself) had horrible neck (left side for me) and also my left arm, pain from the surgery (gas or whatever) and it took about 6 or 7 days for me to even get past that type pain. hope that you are feeling better. if it hurts on a 9-10 scale, please contact your doctor. it should not be hurting that bad. your dr should be able to give you some relief meds.
  22. i drink right up until i eat and then wait about 30 min after i am done if i am able....if i (dont wait and take a sip (at 10 or 15 min after) i dont sweat it too much and just keep going on... all of use are different. just try and do what your dr recommends as best you can. thats all we can do. Your doing great, keep up the great work.
  23. i think about food alot also. but i also think about how much weight i lost and how much better i am feeling. that usually works for me. but if i am really (hungry) i drink something or eat something healthy. (a high protein bar (watch for the cal intake) 2oz cheese, piece of fruit or something like that. Hang in there, you are doing GREAT.
