The Male Ego
This is dead on. I find myself not wanting to tell people about my surgery not because im self concious but because it seems like I needed help. I definately do but as a man it is tantamount to sin to need help.

Belly Dancers Help!
The balance issues will improve. You have different proportions now and your inner ear has to adjust. Its kinda like in puberty when you get taller and then you get clumsy.

Loss of friends

All Protein Meatloaf
This sounds perfect for me! I wanted something with the taste of red meat but the nutrional value of white meat. Can I ask what site you order from?

What are some good low carb breakfast options?
Found this on Lauras cooking tips. It works for me because im a recovering pancake junkie. Ingredients: 1 cup almond meal 2 eggs 1/4 cup water (for puffier pancakes, you can use sparkling water) 2 T oil 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 T sweetener Preparation: Mix ingredients together and cook as you would other pancakes. I like to use a nonstick pan with a little oil. The only real difference is that they won't "bubble" on top the same way as regular pancakes. Flip them when the underside is brown. Serve with sugar-free maple syrup, Easy Three Berry Syrup, strawberry topping, or other low carb topping. Yield: Six 4-inch pancakes Nutritional Information: Each pancake has 1 gram effective carbohydrate, plus 2 grams of fiber, 6 grams of protein, and 155 calories.

Loss of friends
Hello All I was just reading about members psych evals in another thread and someone mentioned that their therapist told them they will DEFINATELY lose friends after the weight loss. My therapist told me the same thing at my session. I really can't envision losing any of my friends because I lost weight! I have a couple friends who dropped some major poundage and I didn't get jealous or hate them, infact I couldn't have been happier for them. So how many of you successful sleevers have lost good friends after weight loss? Were they close friends, any jealous comments? Please share.

Missing eating
I have been alternating weekly to a liquid diet just so it wont be a shock to my body. I have found that if you can get past the head hunger liquids can give you a full satisfied feeling.

Belly fat
Comes down to age and genetics. Crunches don't really help as we lose fat all over with any form of excercise. It strengthens the muscles but you will not spot lose fat from around the waist. Just keep dieting and working out and give it time.

What my therapist wrote on my psych eval for insurance
Now Im nervous. I didn't even see my eval, she just told me that she was recommending me for the surgery. What if she wrote all types of psycho-babble about me? All well there is always another doc.

Wonderful lunch!
I am so worried about eating out. Im used to ordering the heftiest meal on the menu and pigging out its gonna be a big change. Maybe two stuffed mushroom appetizers from red lobster instead of the captains feast.

How do you see the world?
Great question! I am ending the process of getting approved for the sleeve, but I have seen my mentality change since I began. I already see myself as a different and thinner person. Often when I see morbidly obese people, I wonder if they try and excercise or if they know about the various surgeries availible. We have all tried and failed at dieting and there is no shame in opting for WLS, however I have always had a hard time empathizing with obese people who do nothing for themselves. I know the pain and stigma being overweight carries its a battle I have been fighting all my life. I consider anyone going through any process to lose lbs a brother/sister in arms. But those who chose to do nothing and except their lot in life frustrate me a great deal.
