:thumbup: Hi Everyone! Ever really wonder why we are so addicted to this site? It is because we are all Connected. Connected by the journey, connected by the cause, connected by a small piece of rubber like material that keeps us in control of our eating habits. It is there, but more than that, it is our everyday mental reminder, that we are banded persons sharing the same walks of life daily! What we must all learn to do is rely on this band and keep it doing what it is suppose to do with our help! Ignore Distractions!!!! Our own flaws can distract us from keeping our eyes on Jesus. http://www.lapband.com/en/learn_about_lapband/safety_informa tion/ Patients can experience complications after surgery. Most complications are not serious but some may require hospitalization and/or re-operation. In the United States clinical study, with 3-year follow-up reported, 88% of the 299 patients had one or more adverse events, ranging from mild, moderate, to severe. Nausea and vomiting (51%), gastroesophageal reflux (regurgitation) (34%), band slippage/pouch dilatation (24%) and stoma obstruction (stomach-band outlet blockage) (14%) were the most common post-operative complications. In the study, 25% of the patients had their band systems removed, two-thirds of which were following adverse events. Esophageal dilatation or dysmotility (poor esophageal function) occurred in 11% of patients, the long-term effects of which are currently unknown. Constipation, diarrhea and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) occurred in 9% of the patients. In 9% of the patients, a second surgery was needed to fix a problem with the band or initial surgery. In 9% of the patients, there was an additional procedure to fix a leaking or twisted access port. The access port design has been improved. Four out of 299 patients (1.3%) had their bands erode into their stomachs. These bands needed to be removed in a second operation. Surgical techniques have evolved to reduce slippage. Surgeons with more laparoscopic experience and more experience with these procedures report fewer complications. Adverse events that were considered to be non-serious, and which occurred in less than 1% of the patients, included: esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus), gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), hiatal hernia (some stomach above the diaphragm), pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), abdominal pain, hernia, incisional hernia, infection, redundant skin, dehydration, diarrhea (frequent semi-solid bowel movements), abnormal stools, constipation, flatulence (gas), dyspepsia (upset stomach), eructation (belching), cardiospasm (an obstruction of passage of food through the bottom of the esophagus), hematemsis (vomiting of blood), asthenia (fatigue), fever, chest pain, incision pain, contact dermatitis (rash), abnormal healing, edema (swelling), paresthesia (abnormal sensation of burning, prickly, or tingling), dysmenorrhea (difficult periods), hypochromic anemia (low oxygen carrying part of blood), band system leak, cholecystitis (gall stones), esophageal ulcer (sore), port displacement, port site pain, spleen injury, and wound infection. Be sure to ask your surgeon about these possible complications and any of these medical terms that you dont understand. Back to Top What are the specific risks and possible complications?   Talk to your doctor about all of the following risks and complications:   Ulceration Gastritis (irritated stomach tissue) Gastroesophageal reflux (regurgitation) Heartburn Gas bloat Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) Dehydration Constipation Weight regain Death Laparoscopic surgery has its own set of possible problems. They include:   Spleen or liver damage (sometimes requiring spleen removal) Damage to major blood vessels Lung problems Thrombosis (blood clots) Rupture of the wound Perforation of the stomach or esophagus during surgery Laparoscopic surgery is not always possible. The surgeon may need to switch to an "open" method due to some of the reasons mentioned here. This happened in about 5% of the cases in the U.S. Clinical Study. There are also problems that can occur that are directly related to the LAP-BAND� System:   The band can spontaneously deflate because of leakage. That leakage can come from the band, the reservoir, or the tubing that connects them. The band can slip There can be stomach slippage The stomach pouch can enlarge The stoma (stomach outlet) can be blocked The band can erode into the stomach Obstruction of the stomach can be caused by:   Food Swelling Improper placement of the band The band being over-inflated Band or stomach slippage Stomach pouch twisting Stomach pouch enlargement There have been some reports that the esophagus has stretched or dilated in some patients. This could be caused by:   Improper placement of the band The band being tightened too much Stoma obstruction Binge eating Excessive vomiting Patients with a weaker esophagus may be more likely to have this problem. A weaker esophagus is one that is not good at pushing food through to your stomach. Tell your surgeon if you have difficulty swallowing. Then your surgeon can evaluate this. Weight loss with the LAP-BAND� System is typically slower and more gradual than with some other weight loss surgeries. Tightening the band too fast or too much to try to speed up weight loss should be avoided. The stomach pouch and/or esophagus can become enlarged as a result. You need to learn how to use your band as a tool that can help you reduce the amount you eat. Infection is possible. Also, the band can erode into the stomach. This can happen right after surgery or years later, although this rarely happens. Complications can cause reduced weight loss. They can also cause weight gain. Other complications can result that require more surgery to remove, reposition, or replace the band. Some patients have more nausea and vomiting than others. You should see your physician at once if vomiting persists. Rapid weight loss may lead to symptoms of:   Malnutrition Anemia Related complications It is possible you may not lose much weight or any weight at all. You could also have complications related to obesity. If any complications occur, you may need to stay in the hospital longer. You may also need to return to the hospital later. A number of less serious complications can also occur. These may have little effect on how long it takes you to recover from surgery. If you have existing problems, such as diabetes, a large hiatal hernia (part of the stomach in the chest cavity), Barretts esophagus (severe, chronic inflammation of the lower esophagus), or emotional or psychological problems, you may have more complications. Your surgeon will consider how bad your symptoms are, and if you are a good candidate for the LAP-BAND� System surgery. You also have more risk of complications if you've had a surgery before in the same area. If the procedure is not done laparoscopically by an experienced surgeon, you may have more risk of complications. Anti-inflammatory drugs that may irritate the stomach, such as aspirin and NSAIDs, should be used with caution. Some people need folate and vitamin B12 supplements to maintain normal homocycteine levels. Elevated homocycteine levels can increase risks to your heart and the risk of spinal birth defects. You can develop gallstones after a rapid weight loss. This can make it necessary to remove your gallbladder. There have been no reports of autoimmune disease with the use of the LAP-BAND� System. Autoimmune diseases and connective tissue disorders, though, have been reported after long-term implantation of other silicone devices. These problems can include systemic lupus erythematosus and scleroderma. At this time, there is no conclusive clinical evidence that supports a relationship between connective-tissue disorders and silicone implants. Long-term studies to further evaluate this possibility are still being done. You should know, though, that if autoimmune symptoms develop after the band is in place, you may need treatment. The band may also need to be removed. Talk with your surgeon about this possibility. Also, if you have symptoms of autoimmune disease now, the LAP-BAND� System may not be right for you. Back to Top Removing the LAP-BAND� System   If the LAP-BAND� System has been placed laparoscopically, it may be possible to remove it the same way. This is an advantage of the LAP-BAND� System. However, an "open" procedure may be necessary to remove a band. In the U.S. Clinical Study, 60% of the bands that were removed were done laparoscopically. Surgeons report that after the band is removed, the stomach returns to essentially a normal state. At this time, there are no known reasons to suggest that the band should be replaced or removed at some point unless a complication occurs or you do not lose weight. It is difficult, though, to say whether the band will stay in place for the rest of your life. It may need to be removed or replaced at some point. Removing the device requires a surgical procedure. That procedure will have all the related risks and possible complications that come with surgery. Up North! And other news...

Well, I've been offline for a few days looking for a place to live in the Minneapolis area. And I found a really great place about 12 minutes from where I will be working! SO happy about that!! Right now I drive about 45 minutes to work. Bleh. Done with it!   My first fill is a week from tomorrow!! I am excited! A bit nervous, but looking forward to some real restriction and (hopefully) seeing some weight come off.   This weekend is D-DAY! It's the awards ceremony at work...I hope I win SOME money! Even 3rd place gets $2,500...that would be a tremendous help. But that $25,000 is still my ultimate dream!! *praying!* I'm up against some ridiculously awesome photographers, so we'll see! It's a tough one.   I still have 3 more days scheduled up here to looks for a place! What on earth am I going to do with my time! I think I'll go out to some parks and take a walk or something. Maybe walk my friend's dog for her. :rolleyes2:   Anyway, it's been a while, so I just wanted to post SOMETHING to let people know I'm still here!   Blessings, all! xo

Late Night Musings

I am not a therapy fan (personal choice) but blogging does seem to fill that sort of role for me. So as I sit here and ingest copious amounts of fluids after my walk, I thought I would toss out my current state, weird milestones and general thoughts at this point in my LAP-BAND® journey.   As of this morning's weigh in, I am 4 pounds away from my first 100 pounds of loss. I do not go back and try and figure out my highest weight this year, but rather use the weigh in amount one first consult. I am ecstatic about this as I am pretty sure that once I get to this weight, it will be the lowest weight I have reached in my adult (Post college) life. I had a soft goal of 100 pounds lost by my 20 year high school reunion (it was convenient) and it looks like I should cruise to that with 2 weeks left. I still hardly see the difference, but friends and family are very kind and give me tons of support and kind words. I know that the clothing cannot lie and some of my clothes from before are just ridiculous now. (I have since taken them all to Goodwill)   After this milestone (which will put me at 331 pounds...yes, I was a big cat), my next milestones are as follows:     330 - I can now use Wii Fit
300 - I have not been sub-300 since high school
286 - This is the next level of obesity (Severely). At least that one sounds logical.
250 - My old WW lifetime goal and really, as far as I can see ahead.
  the band has been an amazing tool thus far. I am still learning how best to use it and trying to make sure that I am doing my part through exercise, but for the first time in my life I feel as though I am headed in the right direction and cannot see the event that will trigger my fall of the wagon.   Some things I have learned   These are my observations. YMMV.   Fills rock. They suck at first, but each time I get one I get a good burst of weight loss and learn more about what restriction feels like.
I don't really miss food. Sure, I wish I could have a all u can eat lobster-fest every once in a while, but normally, I can have a small portion of almost anything and be happy.
The docs were right. 8/10 times when I feel hungry, a drink makes it better (no, not a vodka tonic)
Exercise makes the difference. I walk and workout as often as I can and it seems to be making a huge difference.
Premier Nutrition shakes from Costco are delicious and get 30g of protein out of the way FAST.
Eating out, while possible, is a pain in the ass. Even when I do a good job, I seem to retain water.
Sketchers Shape-Ups, while REALLY goofy looking, seem to give me a better workout when I walk.
Buying new clothes can be an awesome experience. I look forward to having to donate this last batch to someone else.
  I hope your journeys are proceeding on target. I am a little amped as I walk/jogged roughly a 5K tonight and plan to start psuedo training for a real 5K soon. Not that I like to run (unless chased of course) but thinking that I could actually run that far is exhilarating.

well i havent lost any more weight since i got my first fill :rolleyes2: and to make matters worse i have been so hungry i cheated and had salsa and chips a couple days uggg mad at my self for cheating and disapointed to.

McDonald's....what have you done?

If you follow my blog you know that I had an affair with Ronald under the glow of his golden arches for years. Even though I knew he wasn't good for me and I shouldn't be there, he was my old comfortable lover that knew how to do everything I liked just right.   I'll admit I've visited my old flame a couple of times since my banding mostly due to lack of time/necessity during a month long moving process with a BUSY schedule.. I know I could have made better choices but I didn't.   I came across this and now I know... WOW   Take the next 5 mins and see this below and you'll figure out how much damage we've done with every visit... never again.. NEVER AGAIN..

Enjoy Your Life

Colossians 3:23-24   Reading the scripture is the only way to stay on track with life and truly enjoy life, when we stray from it, we so alienate ourselves and start to feel helpless, that is because we are.   Pray for the strength to stay on track and enjoy your life.   Jesus died so that you can enjoy abundant life, not just the days you are off work or on vacation, or when you get to go shopping or golfing~~~but every day of your life.   He wants you to enjoy going to the grocery store. He wants you to enjoy driving the kids to school. He wants you to enjoy paying the bills, cleaning the house or mowing the yard.   You can enjoy life if you DETERMINE TO DO SO! Say, "I am going to enjoy every aspect of my life, because Jesus died so that I could have joy unspeakable and full of glory!"   Never let anything rob you of your JOY, EnJOY Your LIFE! And the Trainer Says.......

OK, I had a trainer appointment this morning. I got measured (4 weeks since joining gym and having first measurements), and had a nice chat. At $100 an hour I could find a nice dog to chat with and buy a new pair of pants, but ok. And its not as if I didn't enter into this contract with eyes wide open and wanting the motivation and information.....   First, I have lost 2 inches from my hips, 1.5 from thighs and 1 from my waist. Considering I can't and haven't done any core or lower body weights these results are just from the elliptical. I'm over the moon. Explains why my pants fall off when I walk.   Trainer says I need to start lower body this week which I agree with. I'm going to meet with him again next Sunday and start core. My pain (from who knows what) on my left side is mostly gone and I'm cleared 8 weeks out (next weekend) to start core so that's that.   I need to kick up my elliptical -- not working hard enough. WHAT??? I guess I wasn't pushing hard enough and I need to try to get my heart rate up over 130 (target is 150-170? JEEZ). Its around 100-110 now, but I'm off high blood pressure meds so it should go up fairly well now. But I'm not supposed to be able to easily hold a conversation during the 45 minutes so there you have it.   I went online and recorded almost 100 songs that I can play while I'm on the elliptical that will keep me moving faster. That way when my workout buddy flakes on me or I'm on my own I can listen to some catchy fast tunes to keep my pace up!   Watching the soccer match, cleaning, laundry and packing food for lunches. Fun, relaxing day! :rolleyes2:

Time to deal with the exercise monster - 7/11/10

My surgery is in 3 days, and I need to start thinking about the crucial component for taking advantage of the honeymoon period of weight loss--exercise. I am a total exercise wimp. I hate it. I hate it because it hurts my knees, I have bad balance, and I find it mind-numbingly boring.   So here's what I've done to ease myself into it. I decided that I wanted something that I could do at home (I live in a cold climate and there's no way I'm driving to Curves in a blizzard).   I ordered a DVD set, "The All New Zumba Fitness: Latin Workout Routine" It has 4 DVDs of varyiing difficulty. It's basically "dancercise" to Latin music like samba, tango, macumba etc. I figure this will be less boring that watching some perky aerobicized blonde bouncing around in ways that make my low-impact self cringe. I wanted something I could DO. It looks like I can start the "Beginners" DVD pretty much right after surgery (taking it easy of course) and step it up a bit until I reach the 6 week point, where I am allowed to do strenuous exercise.   At 6 weeks, I have another DVD to add in: "Walk at Home" which I plan to do for a half hour every morning. Hopefully by then I'll be a little lighter and it won't hurt so much. It's at that point that I have to start thinking about a gym for arms, etc. But I'm taking this one step at a time and so I'm not going to worry about the gym today. I'll worry about it tomorrow.

My First "STUCK"!!!! (and I'm so happy!!!)

So just now I had my first "stuck"!!! :ohmy: - What I thought was 'stuck' before (w/the dinner bread at restaurant) was only an "almost stuck".... - I slept late so I just now got around to eating (12:30)...b/c of the time, I skipped my breakfast shake and went for my veggies (steamed soft) and chicken (pureed).... I had the exact same thing for dinner last night (4:30) and it was fine.... but today it would NOT go down!!! About my 2nd swallow, I felt incredible pain! …a knot in my throat/chest, the "gurgling", eyes watering, hard to breathe...I had the incredible urge to BURP! like a big "man-like", rude, burp! Deep and Loud! (LOL!) :rolleyes2: ... but it wouldn’t come. - I walked as quickly as I could to the bathroom (didn’t want to alarm my kids. they don’t know about my LB) I vomited but still couldn’t burp!!! I did not want to vomit again… so I walked around the house w/my hands up, etc.... and now I’m blogging to keep me "distracted".... - I don’t know why this happened? Maybe I didn’t chew well enough? I was very hungry, so I might have swallowed too fast? I have been chewing, my already mushy food, to liquid form before swallowing...sounds gross but it’s been working... - I hope this doesnt mean that I gained weight, so my band got tighter??? I say this b/c the last doc that filled me said that i was having so much put in (10.75 by 3rd fill) b/c i didnt have much abdominal/belly fat and people like me have a hard time tightening thier band. - Anyway...I am still glad :thumbup: I had this bad experience! This is my first time vomiting! I know that sounds odd, but up until now, I really didn’t feel “banded”! I thought the Doc couldn’t get my band tight enough and this was just not going to work for me... Now it’s official! … now I know: I HAVE RESTRICTION!!! WHOO-HOO!! :w00t:

Almost 3 weeks post-op....scales are slow!

Well, here I am, it will be three weeks tomorrow since my surgery. I survived my liquids, clear and full, and the soft food stage. Tomorrow I am supposed to start full foods. My doctor wants me to get in as close to 50 grams of protein a day. So, I have been having protein shakes, made from home and the Gladiator from Smoothie King. I have had refried beans, cottage cheese and soups. My favorite is potato soup, which I know is NOT high in protein, but if I am getting pretty close to my protein counts for the day, then I allow myself to eat potato soup. I am nervous about going to full foods tomorrow, and may just combine a mixture of what I am doing now along with "real" food. I ate a bite of cake two days ago (just cake, no icing), and it seemed to get stuck, and I wound up throwing it up. Not eating cake for a long time to come!! That was not fun!! And that is my fear about "real" food.   In the first 8 days after surgery, I lost 16.6 lbs!! I was very pleased with that!! In the next 11 days after that, I fluctuated up and down just under a half a pound. On day 19, my scale dropped almost another pound. WOOHOO! I was glad to see it move....I will say that during that time, I went 6 days without a bowel movement, and started taking 2 fiber choice chewables at night. That seemed to work. Still not going every day, but not going 6 days without one either. Seems to be about every 3 days or so.....But now my scale is back at a standstill. I have been very positive about this. I am telling myself it is ok if it comes off a little slower, so long as it comes off. But today, I am a little discouraged. I am reading posts from people who's surgery date was about the same time as mine, and they have lost almost twice what I have lost. So, today, I am trying to learn how to deal with my emotions as it comes off slowly.   I went thru my closet this weekend. I am getting rid of anything that I dont think I will wear even when I can. I have an abundance of clothes that range in size from 16-20. They are all sorted by size, and I am looking forward to going from the 20s I am wearing to the 18s that havent been worn in a long while. I thought maybe this would help, but so far, not so much! LOL   Anyway, I know it all will come off eventually. It has to! There is not enough food going into my body to not be losing. One day at a time, I will reach my goal....

Suday..im at work. I am meeting some friends that i have not seen in more that 5 years (before having my twins) They dont know i have the Band, funny think is that i think right now i weigh the same than when we saw eachother last. So maybe i will tell them, or maybe not.   Have a great week everyone.   Oh yeah... still not lost any weight:sneaky:

Diabetes II remission

I'm not sure what the medical parameters are to say officially that my Diabetes is in remission, but the news is great so far. Prior to the pre-op diet on June 5, I was taking 1,000 mg of metformin per day (with last meal). The blood work I had done in April showed a fasting glucose of 107. They told me not to take metformin the day before surgery and when they checked my fasting glucose the day of surgery it was 76. Wow! That's the first time I can remember I've had a fasting number under 100 (100-124 = pre-diabetic/insulin resistant; 125 and over = diabetic are the medical standards I've been told). I have not taken metformin since prior to my surgery on June 24. I've continued to monitor my blood sugar and the low numbers continue!! This morning my fasting number was 75. I go to my family doctor in a few weeks and she wants me to bring my meter so we can discuss. I got down to my current weight 2 years ago through diet and exercise and my metformin was still needed - just reduced to 750 mg a day. Of course, when I put 30 lbs back on I needed the 1,000 again.   So grateful for my health. Besides looking better, getting around easier, feeling better about myself --- I'm going to live longer thanks to this surgery! I knew it would resolve the Diabetes but I didn't know it would do it PRIOR to surgery!

after vacation...

Well, back from vacation. Had a good time, but it's always nice to come back home. A little dissapointed that I haven't lost any weight since surgery, I EAT SO LITTLE! I know I should walk more, I just don't have the energy. Still getting killer hunger pains in the middle of the night, still have big backaches that I think are brought on by being too full. "real food" seems to bring on the backaches. I wanted this band so bad, but it's so hard changing myself to fit into my band! I'm still the fat chick.:rolleyes2:

day 4 post-op

up early because i can't sleep. can't lie down flat due to pain in chest and full feeling up to my throat, even though I haven't had anything to drink since last evening. I am trying to hold on the your tips that this will pass, but i am miserable. i do walk and try to help with the gas. it is going down, but i can still see and feel how much gas i have in my abdomen. it helps to talk about how i feel on here. no one at home knows how i feel.:rolleyes2:

Saturday Evening Out In Manhattan.

A Saturday evening out in Manhattan with friends after seeing a Broadway show - we decided to go to Carmine's, an Italian restaurant, to eat. I told them to choose the restaurant - no matter where I went I would not be able to eat much anyway.   Carmine's is a family-style restaurant with large portions that feed about four people. We got a cold antipasto, which came on a huge platter, and I was able to pick a few things off of there to eat - smoked salmon, yellow tomato, eggplant, red peppers, spinach and cheese, which was lovely for me. For the main dish, we had veal parmigiana with pasta, of which I had a little bit. I also remembered not to drink my raspberry lemonade until I had finished my solid food. I waited 15-20 minutes before drinking. Boy this felt so good, not making myself sick.   What was nice about this family style was that I was able to taste a little of everything, without having to order entire portions for myself, most of which I could not finish. So this worked out just great for me.   I think what I'm saying here is that I'm learning how to eat out with my lap band and still enjoy the dining experience. This only took me 9 months to figure out - LOL. So this was a new step for me and it really felt good - a Saturday evening out in Manhattan.:rolleyes2:

Starting week 4

I was just banded on 6/21. I survived the 2 weeks of liquids and 1 week of soft food and now Im very much looking forward to start experimenting with solid food agains. I tried a little bit of chicken tonight cause Im been dying for some meat and it seemed to go down ok. Im still struggling with the exercise cause I dont have a lot of energy. Just trying to stay motivated.

Great Recipe

I had the most wonderful dinner tonight, so I thought I would pass along the recipe. This comes directly from my nutritionist. If you like crab, shrimp or scallops, this one is for you.   This recipe makes 2 servings - I can't wait until tomorrow night to have the remaining half.   1/2lb crab - I substituted shrimp 1/2lb scallops 2T Smart Balance spread 1/2c 1% milk 3T Parmesian Cheese 1/2c Park skim mozzarella cheese, shredded   Saute seafood in the Smart Balance over medium high heat until mostly cooked. Add milk and salt/pepper to taste. (I added some garlic powder and parsley flakes.) Lower heat to medium. Add most of the mozzarella and stil until thickens. Pour mixture into a casserole dish and add teh rest of the mozzarella. Broil until brown and bubbling.   This would be great over pasta, but of course we can't have pasta. This portion was more than enough for a meal and so tasty.   Enjoy!:rolleyes2:

I must have missed a step in my banding process. I went to one seminar then the Dr. had me do all my testing and in 6 weeks I was banded. I really never got anything on what to eat and when- other than to be on liquids for 1 week post op - then mushy food for 1 week then I see my Dr. from there again. I was never told not to drink from a straw - I had no pre op diet (although my Dr. said on paper I look like i'm athletic) and I'm kind of thinking I should buy a book or something on this band and foods.   Maybe it will all come on my appt. the 17th. For now I am eating soups, protien shakes, jello, yogurts and drinking lots of water and crystal light.   I feel really good and I don't have any issues eating/drinking or with gas. In fact I had NO issues with gas even after my surgery. I didn't know the straw part so I've been drinking with one and I've had no issues. When you guys say gas do you mean like burping or GAS down the other end?LOL sorry but I don't have either so i'm not sure.   I'm not comlaining trust me, just worried maybe something is wrong, i'm literally having no issues other than wondering if I'm doing this right.   Well - Cheers to feeling good and I hope this continues and I start to see the weight drop soon. I keep reminding myself - It's only been a week, BE PATIENT.   I'm truly amazed that I have been able to stick to this so far with no temptations. So far so good. I am starting to feel hungrier each day so my 300 cal days are now about 650 calories per day. Is that enough for now? Because thats about all I can get in.:rolleyes2:

Vacation --paradise or torture chamber?

I just got back from Panama City Beach in FL and it was beautiful! No oil. One day the flags were double red flags but that was OK we did pools! I ate breakfast and lunch in the room, so I could control it and ate out each night but was very conscience of what I ordered and how much I ate. I walked the sandy beaches and played in the waves everyday, for hours. But I got home today after 8 hours of driving and weighed and I was up 2 lbs! YIKES. I feel like it was the salt air that made me have water retention, because my feet are swollen, so I am going to drink TONS of water the next two days hoping to flush the water out. I hope this works!

Medicaid Insurance in Illinois Questions

I am going to a LAP-BAND® seminar on Jul 13, but I am curious to knw about anyone who has had the LAP-BAND® done in Illinois with the Medical card? How long did it take to get approved? How long did it take to get the surgery done. I am considered extremely obese, I have sleep apnea, hypertension, and clinically depressed.
