2years out and already gaining

Recommended Posts

I am 2 months shy of my 2 year anniversary and I am already gaining my weight back! I'm so discouraged! I am able to eat sugar and that makes it hard. I have not gone back to soda, which is great, but I am not motivated to stay on my diet anymore. I hit my 100 lb mark at 1 year, (my goal was 175) but have gained back 25 lbs in the last year. SO DISCOURAGED!!

Looking back now, I wished I had realized that there was a small window of change to take place mentally. I knew this was a tool to lose weight, but I thought I had more time to change. Its different when you CANT eat, but now its work!

Go back to your doc and get renewed/reenergized. You have come so far don't let the weight come back. Let the doc check your levels there could be a reason for the weight gain. Stop the sugar. I know it's easy to say, but start removing it slowly. Go to sugar free items until you can say enough!

I'm only 9 weeks and I think about it daily I have to chance the way I eat so there are just certain things I will not eat and that's just how it is. I'm sure it will get harder as I advance, but you can still do this. You have done the hard part and confessed, Now go to work!!!!

I agree...you just need to get re:motivated. You may want to get into a workout program at a gym or dvd program. Cut out the junk food and remember that you have come too far to go back.

I am almost 4yrs out and started gaining at 2.5 years out. DOS I was 346 my lowest 210 never even got to goal. On September 30,2013 I was back to 257. I had a revision done on September 30,2013. I hope with the revision I can make it to goal. You have to really want to change forever and I didn't. After 2 years I could eat everything. I tried to get back on track but my pouch was so stretched it was hard. I will keep you I'my prayers.

I can relate. I am 3 years out and I have gained 10 pounds. I am actually at the goal my dr set for me, but not at my lowest. I am trying to go back to the basics and have gone back to working out the way I din 1.5 years ago. I do not want to do a revision and hope it does not come to that.

2017: I'm 2 YRS out (RNY) and have lost my motivation. I started at 257. At one year I lost 57 lbs. I'm not gaining pounds, but my girth has expanded. I wonder since I'm 66 if that is as far as I'm going. I've been eating too much, too often, especially in the evening.

You should go back to sitting in support group meetings to keep you on track and get you motivated

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
