I haven't had a period in over a year thanks to Mirena. All of a sudden, old aunt flo showed up today out of the blue. My surgery was 1 month ago. Any thoughts or advice??

Exact same thing happened with me! Did your Dr. tell you to use alternate birth control for 3 months? This surgery plays with our hormones and the Mirena is no longer effective.

Happened to me too. Read it could be the stress of the surgery combined with the hormones.

Did you have heparin or lovenox injections? That's probably the culprit

Use additional birth control. When you lose weight you tend to get your period again if you have not had it. And the blood thinner that they give you will bring it down and sometimes very heavy. The protein first really helps with alot of issue you many experience. Since surgery I am eating correctly and many things correct itself. Good luck keep your head up

All sounds plausible to me. It sure sucks having a period again after not having one for over a year!...I don't even buy feminine products anymore!
