Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

Recommended Posts

the chest and shoulder pain were pretty horrendous.

My surgery went well. I've posted all about it on my blog if anyone cares to read (and a picture of my war wounds too!).. it's so odd to me that that I didn't have a single bit of shoulder pain. All mine was in the chest/rib cage area but 2 days later that's already gone. I feel like I am healing super fast.. the liquid diet is boring but I've lost 8 pounds since my consult a little over a week ago. Today my stomach is making strange noises... not really growling but I think it's wondering where all the food is? lol.

anyway, I hope everyone else who has had their surgery already this month is feeling like a million bucks because I know I do!

I finally got my date!

February 30th. Well, it would have been if the damn Catholics didn't invent a month with only 28 days in it.

But they did and I guess my surgery date appears as March 2nd on the modern calendar.

Good luck to those going under the knife today and tomorrow!!!

Glad you got your date and have something to look forward to.

Come visit us sometime.......... :)

Hello all...I got the band yesterday and I am back home today. I slept ALL day after the surgery. I just could not stay awake! The pain is tolerable. Just turning over in bed and stangind up is a bit painful. I was a bit queezy at first but that gave me some phenergan for that and never had an episode since. My surgeon did find a hernia and repaired it. I have had very mild shoulder pain (i guess gas). Other than that, things are great so far. I was a bit excited and nervous but I as arrived at the hospital and the process got started the excited part took over and I no longer felt nervous. Good luck to all of those getting banded in Feb!

Hello everyone, been home now 24 hrs got home from hospital late yesterday, what a mess at the hospital, I was in the recovery room overnight, they had no beds, so there was 2 of us there, it was nice to have a nurse all to yourself, but really didn't get much sleep.they were cleaning, and making a lot of noise. Then went up to have a upper GI and than put into a room, where they really didn't help me at all.. So my over all hospital stay wasn't the greatest...

Today not doing so bad just tired and a little pain in the area where they did the surgery. The gas pain was really bad that night of the surgery but it comes and goes now. But FYI to all the Women, I read alot of post about getting your period right after the surgery and it is true I got mine yesterday the day after, just be prepared for it in case.. I'm doing OK otherwise.....

I have decided that if I was forced to drink a Protein shake after every unhealthy meal but didn't have to drink one if I ate healthy - I would've been skinny.

I am forcing myself to drink these things.......I sooo do not want to have a "meal" because I know my shake follows shortly after.......Yuck!

A little dramatic, I know, but I'm sick of them all the same. :sifone:

I'm getting banded on the eleventh (one week away). I've been on my liquid/soft diet for two days now and I am starving.

I am extremely nervous about surgery. I'm scared, and with each day I find myself wondering how I can be really be doing this. I can't wait for this all to be over.

I am excited about getting slim and healthy, though... so... I just need to get over this anxiety.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
