Pain in Left Side...HELP

Recommended Posts

I have been having a pain in my left side and dry heaves. My doctor did a colonscopy and cat scan (regular doc) and said he sees nothing. However, he does want me to contact Dr. Malley or Lopez and have them look me over as he feels my band may have slipped or adhesed to another part of my anatomy. Has ANYONE else ever experianced this wonderful phenomonom? I had laid off the fills until we found out what was going on. My restriction is odd...sometimes I cannot get two bites down (of anything) without it sticking and other times I can eat a house....I am getting so sad as I want this to work but not having a left side ache all the time. Also, when I bend over I feel something pull inside....COUNSELING PLEASE!!!

(((hugs)))

Sorry you are having distress... I am hoping some of our wise banded elders will be able to help you out.

In the mean time, call your band doc.

Based on my readings (no band, yet) Dry Heaves are not a good thing.

Call your doc!

Thank you Renee! I needed the hugs. I did call Dr. Malley and he wants to see me and make sure all if okay. I was feeling SOOOO good up to this point and am down around 40 pounds since May 18.

Again, thanks for the encouragement!

How long have you been experiencing the pain? Have you had it all along since your surgery? Are you possibly exercising and maybe you aggravated the port area? I know I am asking an awful lot of questions, but sometimes we don't realize the things we are doing can effect us in certain ways. As for the dry heaves, no idea why that would be happening. Do you still have a gallbladder? I had mine removed a few years before my band, but I remember being so nauseous and constantly gaggin on my own saliva, yuk. A simple ultra sound will tell them if you have stones or not, you fit the usual criteria, fat, female and forty, forgive me for referring to you as fat, but that's the way they describe it. Nice, huh!

Congratulations on the weight loss, you are doing a spectacular job with that. I am curious about why you doc mentioned adhesions? Any reason or is he just taking a guess? As for the slippage, you may well have caused that with the dry heaves. Sorry to not have any better answers for you, I hope you feel better soon and please, let us know when you do find out what it is. I'm so glad that you're under doctor's care, it's not something you should be taking lightly. I wouldn't freak out either, but you're doing what you need to do right now.

Good that you came here for some support, always lots of that here. I say a prayer that it's nothing serious or permanent and that you recover from what ever it is quickly.

Cindy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
