My port is starting to stick out and I asked my doc if there was anything I could do once I got to my weight loss goal. I figure it'll be more noticeable once I loose more weight.

She told me that they now have a flat port which doesn't stick out that much. I wonder when this came out ?

She said it's a pretty simple one day procedure to replace the port once I'm ready or interested.

Wow, Leo - I don't think you're supposed to be able to see your port THAT well... lol Ah, I love a good ribbing...:D

When I had my surgery 1/23/03, Dr Lopez told me that I would have the new mini-port (this is the Inamed lap-band). I'm not positive what it looks like, as he only had the "old" port on his display model, but I must say that when my port flipped, it sure did not feel like a "mini" ANYTHING - lol.

Even now, after my revision, it seems very close to the surface (and not "flat", as far as low profile type "flat") and slanting from top to bottom, the top pushing out more. It doesn't hurt (which is all I care about!!) but the appearance certainly is not aesthetically pleasing, particularly with the big dent below (where the heck did that come from?!?!).

I know you are all dying to see what I mean. I'll have to get the camera out and take a picture for posterity...

I'd check into how much that little one day surgery is going to cost you (mine was $1821 just to reposition the existing port, not replacing it). If it's going to cost you $$$, and your port isn't causing you any problems, I personally would skip it. But then, no one ever accused me of being a fashion plate... :D

My port isn't large or wide at all, it just sticks out a little and I was worried if I lost anoter 50 Lbs it would be sticking out even more.

Isn't it funny how things have changed since being banded?? Instead of worrying about weight gain, we can now worry how we going to deal with all the old clothes, when to start buying new clothes and in Alex case, if the port will start sticking out :D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
