Anyone have Cigna?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have Cigna with a 35 BMI? I seem to be having difficulty with them, or rather with gathering all the information needed to get approved for the surgery. Did anyone have to provide records of their weight for the past two years? Also, what type of information did you have to provide (ie journals, records, etc) after completing the 6 month MD supervised dietary program? Thanks!

Hey,

Hopefully your surgeons office has worked with Cigna before and should be able to guide you along as to what their looking for. Cigna no longer requires a 2 year weight loss history so not sure if that will helps you. Attached is an updated list of requirements that you have to meet, considering that your plan covers weight loss surgery.

I had to give them a 5 year history of obesity (my BMI was over 40). I used my annual gyno visits for that. I also had to have the psychological clearance, a nutrition class, and a letter from my pcp (again, I used my gyno's office since they are a full clinic who does all of my care).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
