Some insurance companies cover some what of a tummy tuck. I believe it is hard to get them to do it and you would more than likely need some documentation of a rash or something that is caused by the excess skin. They also range in price. Mine altogether (Extended Tummy Tuck with no MR, garments, staying one night in the hospital, all of my post-op) was $9030. Im paying some with cash, the other with CareCredit. My surgeon said he is not doing MR (muscle repair) because I do not have any kids and I plan on having them in the FAR future :wink2:. Although, I told him if my muscles are very much seperated he could repair.

Im going in for my pre-op in the morning..And my TT is on Friday! Im so nervous :tongue2:

You can definitely get pregnant after a Tummy Tuck, but it wouldn't be a good idea. You would totally undo the tummy tuck. Definitely have all your babies first, THEN tummy tuck.

I really don't understand why anyone would waste the money and have plastic surgery prior to having children. I had a LBL in Jan and I would not want to go through this surgery again. Have children and then touch up your body, don't waste your dollars until your done stretching out.

Insurance may cover removal of excess abdominal skin if it causes infections or rashes that do not repsond to medication over a period of months.

Keep in mind that a simple skin removal (panniculectomy) is a far cry from a nicely done abdominoplasty.

My website has links to many of the INS companies plans a criteria, plus some useful tips for getting coverage:

As for pregnancy, I have a number of young patients who are not comfortable with themselves, much less another person, while undressed. Some have never even dated. For these individuals, a Tummy Tuck prior to pregnancy is a good option.

In general, a tummy tuck will "undo" some of the result, but most patients will never re-develop the amount of skin they had after massive weight loss...assuming their pregnancy weight gain is normal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
