Not losing weight - very frusterated

Recommended Posts

It is an unfortunately truth that the less you have to loose, the harder you have to work at it. I have a lot to loose and it is falling off much, much quicker than I am comfortable with. I am sure once I get down to my last 50 lbs it will be a struggle much like you are going thru.

If you read on the official site for the lap-band, I believe somewhere on it I read that the band really only helps you loose 80% of the excess. The last 20% is much, much harder.

How exactly am I going to get myself into trouble? Are the Forum thugs going to come to my house and break my knees? All I was trying to say is, if you can't follow a strict diet now, how are you going to do it two years into your banding? I really am sorry if someone cannot handle my truthful, albeit hurtful words. I wasn't trying to make anyone cry, but this is real life, and I'm just giving real advice. Again, I wish everyone would let this go, but after getting almost "threatened" I don't appreciate it. I know what works for me and I've lost 63 pounds since June 22nd and I'm not drinking wine or eating Desserts. Sorry!

I don't think she meant that type of trouble but trouble in your weightless journey

I think you are my twin lost at birth. My family always says I am too honest and too upfront. Reading your post was kind of what I was thinking. I too got this thinking "Oh yeah I'll just eat whatever and eat less so I'll lose" WRONG! Once I got real restriction WHICH I DID NOT GET UNTIL FILL NUMBER 4 I realized IF YOU HAVE real restriction you can't eat the stuff you use to. I cannot eat fast food. I cannot eat bread. I do not drink any soda anymore. All of which I could eat with fills 1, 2 and 3. Now that I am so restricted in WHAT I can eat I am losing (lost 10 pounds in last three weeks)

Of course I can still eat any type of sugar - we all know that slides down but I dont. The band for me MADE me eat healthy. I cant eat an egg mcmuffin anymore - so I eat 3 slices of bacon every morning. I can't eat a big mac anymore so I eat cottage cheese with peaches every day for lunch - I can't eat burritos anymore so for dinner I eat a taco salad with no Beans and lots of sour cream to help it slide down.

ONCE you get restriction you will lose weight if you dont have the sugars. Plus 45 pounds is not that much to lose BUT its exactly what I have to lose. I've already lost 25 so we're in the same place. I have 7.4 ccs in a 10 band.

GET fills - they are the only thing that will keep you from eating the bad stuff and for one month have no wine or sugar and see if it kicks in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
