I'm feeling VERY good right now. I had my port removal surgery last Friday (due to infection), and the weekend was tough emotionally. I'll admit it. I was able to get my wound vac yesterday and am very grateful for all of my blessings today. I'm grateful to live in a time where the LapBand is even an option. I'm grateful to live in a country where it's available. I'm grateful to have such a great insurance company (Cigna sucked for us, but United Healthcare has been wonderful) that will allow me to have these much needed surgeries and pay 100% for all of the nurses I've had coming into my home taking care of my 'wound' infection. I'm grateful to live in a Country where I'm not going to DIE from complications of untreated Diabetes, or lack of antibiotics, or clean, sterile supplies to treat my infection b/c things like that are just not available! I'm SOOOO grateful that all of my Daycare parents (I run a daycare out of my home and currently have 6 little ones enrolled) are as wonderful as they are. Nobody has questioned my husband stepping in and helping me out, rather they have all asked if there's anything they can do to help me. I don't know, I'm just feeling blessed today, as wierd as that may sound considering my luck the last 5 weeks! I'm VERY grateful, even if it took a surgery, to be off my 3 week plateau. I've lost 6 more lbs since Friday. 2 more lbs and I will be down 25 lbs from before my band! Thank you guys for all of the support you have been, too. I really feel hopeful that this wound vac will help me heal up quickly, and I can get another port installed ASAP. My Dr. said he hopes to have me all healed up and happy (with a new port) by Christmas. Anyway, enough rambling, but sometimes it's pretty easy to vent, but not necessarily to take time and be grateful. Gosh I hope this is the beginning of good things for me! Erin

I am so glad you took the time to share with us your feelings. This is a very supportive group, as you well know, and everyone is more than willing to be there when things go haywire, it's nice to hear something that is so positive. I echo your words of gratitude and share in your feelings of being blessed.

Thank you again for sharing with us and I hope these feelings continue as you heal(quickly). There's nothing better for morale than good news!

I have to say that you have a great attitude. With all that has happened with you, I'd be a wreck. You are handeling things amazingly. You have reminded me that I should count my blessings more often. Best of luck to you! On a lighter note... Dec. is not too far away.

What a wonderful and positive outlook you have! Isn't it amazing what focusing on the things we have to be grateful for will do for us?!?! It's something that has brought my spirits up many times myself.

Keep up the great work and positive attitude and I'm sure you'll have your new port in no time!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
