My band hurts - why?

Recommended Posts

I know it hurts because I overdid it Friday night. I should have stuck to Soup all weekend, but some never learn. Now I'm very sore. I know it's from overdoing it, but what is sore? Is it swollen? Bruised? Slipped?

Who ever feels uncomfortable pain. I'm not happy right now. I feel sick, too. Hold me.

It hurts. Right down the middle of my sternum where my pouchy is. Even a lil off to the right (maybe gallbladder.) Just sore, like brusied. Like my band is squeezing too hard.

I only ate 3 pretzles early this morning cause I didn't have any Saltines, and that didn't feel too good. Then I had a Soup-at-Hand, Creamy Broc. Feels like there's a grapefruit stuck in my pouch.

I left work and came home. I don't like this squeezing me feeling. I also have some weird pain on the right in the gallbladderish region. Maybe a little UPSET STOMACH, IDIGESTION, ACID REFLUX, DIAREAH! (How does that Pepto song go?) Sorry, I won't be doing the Peptorena Dance, just off to bed.

Sounds to me like the flu. My band hurts sometimes when food scrapes through it. I was just curious to see if that was what you were talking to.

Lisa, this is the sort of thing I felt this summer when I overdid it and then overdid it again without resting. I had an unfill but think that a week or so on all liquids would have accomplished the same thing. I mean ALL liquids, though, not mushies and no cheating. If I ever have the same symptoms that's what I'm going to do.

The good news is that it's probably just irritated, not damaged in any way. But your tissues need to rest and any solid food just delays the healing. So call your doctor, absolutely, but in the meantime say hello to Protein drinks and soup!

Good luck, girlie, I hope you feel better soon. :P

Call my doctor? That statement hurts my head because they all flood through my brain at once - Lopez, Kuri, Teng, Lopez, Billy. I'll call Billy.

Alex, THANK YOU! That's what I did (Soup, popsicles.) However, I cheated with pudding. No pudding? No smashed taters? Okay, I'm on liquids, so I need everyone to come over and hold me down, please. Hubby is off to the store for S/F popsicles, broth & Soup.< /p>

I also have lump in my throat that's choking me, which I'm attributing to acid reflux. The squeezing is kind of a warm burn. Does that sound right? Time to take mental inventory and stick to liquids. That's why I didn't rush to the doctor because I figured they'd say the same thing unless I wasn't getting liquids down or vomitting. Thanks everyone. Sure feels poopy. Time to take mental inventory.

And the irony is that I gave up soda and goodies. See, my body NEEDS them!

Lisa - HUGS for you - but if you try to drink a soda, I will still kick your butt... Be good - Carbonation is bad. Better a little FF pudding than carbonation and sugar.

Popsicles MMMMMMMMMMM.

Rene, I could hurl my low sodium broth all over this thread right now. A damn Coke would make me feel great. I have a very ugly mean look on my face right now. I didn't get sick till I gave the crap up. My band misses goodies. I am very close to throwing a temper tantrum now, so I better go lay back down. I want a Coke (regular or Diet, I don't care) and a fat ASS burp! Yes, I cussed.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
