Advice- Am I too tight?

Recommended Posts

I recently had a .5 cc put in my 14cc band. I am now at 10.5 cc, at 10 cc, I wasn't feeling much restriction and could eat anything. Now all I can eat is liquidy food, no bread, nothing dense, and I cant even eat chicken 100% of the time.

Am I too tight? I slime at every meal (except when I eat soup).

Do I need to go back to basics or see my doc? I have an appt tomorrow to talk about getting .25 cc taken out.

Either I am too tight or my band is very very moody.

Is this just how it is?

Sound like you are too tight. I receive a fill on last month it was too tight. I had to get .25 remove and I felt an instant relieve. Make sure you keep your appointment with your doctor. Take care

Thank you Mona! I flip flopped between my decision to call doc, because on one hand, I am eating less and cant tell I am losing wait. On the other hand, I know it is not healthy, and know I should be eating more.

So glad to hear that .25 made such a difference! I hope that is just what I need to!

I have been struggling with being too tight for several months. I have scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning for a slight unfill, which I hope will be beneficial and that I haven't waited too long. I am very glad to know that a little bit can make a huge difference. I will keep you posted after my appointment.

Update: Had my appointment this AM, due to possible inflammation, she took out an entire cc! So i am back down to 9.5 cc in my 14 cc band. I was only anticipating .25 or maybe even .50 taken out, but as discouraging as this is for me, I feel like I am taking a step backwards, I know she must have done it for a reason...

You know your body better than anybody else--even your doctor. I do think if you feel it may be too tight... then you probably are right to decide to decrease the Fluid.

I can say that I prefer my band to be snug. Some of the hard foods for me to eat are: bread, Pasta, potatoes, eggs, and fried foods. Which these are all bad anyways. You may just need to eat slower. I usually make 30-45 minutes available. I only eat a couple of bites. Eating slower ensures that the food gets to your stomach and helps you decide if you need another bite. It takes about 5 minutes before you feel the impact of the first bite. Remember to drink some Water about 20 to 30 minutes before, and do not drink during eating. And then wait until about 45 minutes after your meal to start drinking liquids again.

I had an unfill of .25 yesterday and I experienced immediate relief. I too was nervous about my decision, but I couldn't continue the vomiting everyday. I was afraid my band would slip also. Plus, I hated for my five year old daughter to see me always running to the bathroom.

I hope you feel better about your decision.

It becomes very tricky when you get close to your maximum "fill-line". The tiniest of fill can make or break you. It does sound like you are too tight. Try going down .25 and see what happens.

Delivered, I see we have the same surgeon Dr. Collier. I had to have .25 cc remove from my band this month. I was so miserable I couldn't think. I'm happy to have a doctor the listens too me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
