Going to the WLS Seminar, what questions did you wish you had asked?

Recommended Posts

I must first congratulate you all on your progress to date and thank you all for the valuable information that is contained within all of these threads.

I have been reviewing all of these threads for the last month and have found out more than I thought there was to know about banding.

I have decided to take the next step and attend a free seminar at one of the local hospitals here in Columbus, Ohio.

I'd like some feedback from the experienced banders on what questions they wished they asked or information they wished they knew before making their decisions.

The only thing I didn't think about until right after surgery where I had a 2 minute panic mode of "what the hell did I just put into myself", was the longevity of the band.

I wish I asked how long do they really expect this band to be able to stay in my body. Being that I'm younger, I have a hard time seeing myself at age 60 with the original band still in. I can't imagine my stomach being able to tolerate that.

I went last month to the WLS info mtng. It was so thorough and I had learned (and still am) so much here that I didn't ask any questions. I'll be interested in seeing others answers to this, I most likely will learn more as I go on.

Good question on the life of the band. I'll add that to my list of things for the seminar. Thanks

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
