Recommended Posts

Hey all, i had my first fill two weeks ago thursday and I dont feel anything, i was full right when doctor did it, by the next day nothing, Can it take up to a few weeks to actually feel the restriction from the fill, Aany thoughts and help would be great. I have lost one pound in two weeks, frusterating!!!!!!! been working out four days a week and eating under 1000 calories, what gives.

It can take up to two weeks to feel restriction but since it is your first fill, you may not get that restricted feeling. How much are you filled now? Some surgeons are more conservative than others. I had no fill at my surgery and my surgeon filled my band halfway the first time out. I felt some restriction but not enough. I went back and had a little more. Still not at my sweet spot though which is the point you really feel the restriction kick in. I go today to have my third fill and hopefully that will do it for me. Be patient and talk to your surgeon. Get an appt asap and tell them you don't feel the restriciton. Also, you may need to take in a few more calories in order to lose the weight. Be sure you are eating just the Protein and they are solids. Sounds like you are doing everything right. The weight loss is different for everyone. You will do fine but I would definitely talk to your doctor.

Hi hon, I just thought I'd weigh in on my experience. I have had 3 fills. They were all like yours, felt it the first day then nothing! My Doc waits 6 weeks between fills and that's how I got them. I now know why he does that. 3 weeks after my third fill, I got tight. It was unexpected and weird. I couldn't figure out why it happened, but it did.

I had to learn to eat the bandster way all over again. The first 5 months, I would try to eat slow and chew well, but with little or no restriction, it was easy to forget. When my restriction came all of a sudden, I really had to hunker down and actually eat the right way. I kept trying to get it right and finally realized that I probably was over tight. I got a slight unfill at the end of August. Now I am at my sweet spot and loosing good amout of weight.

So what I'm saying is, wait. Practice bandster eating. Get your fills on schedule, and it will happen. Some ladies take 8 fills, some take 1. Don't worry, and when it does come, it may be 3 weeks after a fill, be ready with eating right.

Good luck to you,

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
