first fill - down in the dumps.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

Feeling a bit down in the dumps today, had my first fill 3ml - last Monday, still dont have any restriction, and to prove it i ate chicken last night! with no trouble at all!!!

So I called the doctors office and they said it was quite normal and the next one in 2.5 wks time should make a difference. mmmmmm

I am stiil able to eat more food than i should as i keep feeling hungry and have now put 2 kgs back on.

Cheers

Caz

Just because you can eat chicken fine doesn't really mean anything. I've got 9.5 mls in my band after 3 fills and just getting restriction after the 2nd and 3rd one and can still eat chicken fine.

It can take several fills to get to that "sweet" spot where you have perfect restriction so don't be too disheartened. Just be aware of real hunger v head hunger. To be honest I'm rarely really hungry, mostly it's my head telling me its time to eat or hey - have some chocolate! Start practicing good eating techniques now (small bites, chewing well, 1 cup of food) so that when your restriction is on the money, it won't be a big transition.

Good luck!

Em

I keep seeing post's like this and I'm worried that some people don't realize or the doctors aren't reiitrating that the band is only to "help" you loose the weight. It's not supposed to do it for you. Eating less and a well balanced diet is part of the whole process.

Exactly what I was thinking! Since when are we not supposed to be able to eat chicken? Sorry but we ARE supposed to be able to eat solid food, including chicken. Protein.. it's good for ya.

Same with complex carbs.

Same with veggies and fruits.

I just lose my mind almost every day reading some posts.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
