Well, I came clean to my Doctor today... and told him that I was really struggling with this liquid-only diet while he was removing the stitches.

I told him what I had been eating the past 3 days (bag of cheetos, slices of bread, 1 cheeseburger, etc) and to my surprise he didn't give me any attitude at all, on the contrary, he almost reacted as if he had "expected" this would happen, and only advised that I MADE SURE I chewed everything REALLY REALLY WELL and, of course, to also make better food choices.

He did advise against eating any "hard" foods like crackers, corn chips, toast, etc for the time being.

So I'll just keep having my morning shake and try to complement my lunch & dinner Soup servings with some grilled fish or chicken if possible, but... I guess I'm off the hook! w00t!

I'm glad you told him! I've read so many different doc's reactions; some do x-ray, some just tell patient's to watch it (sometimes sadly there IS a slip) some don't seem to care.

You are LUCKY you! :smile2: enjoy, chew well, and good for you telling him. Now you don't have to worry.

This is definitely hard and I share your desire for something other than liquids but you have to stick with it. I was told to eat 5 times a day but haven't been able to get all those in. Rice and bread are the worst things to east because they can swell and cause problems later. When those pounds start to melt away it WILL be worth it. "You can do it"

Oh how I feel your pain!!!

I just want to chew up a cheeseburger and spit it out!!

that's not cheating is it?

I am on day 5 and should still be on clear but I'm having some creamy Soups as well.

I had to pass up the samples at costco today...uggh....

I think i just want to sleep so I don't think about my food. I miss it soo much!

Good Luck!:(

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
