'Morning!

Kat, so sorry about your ILs and Manda. Praying for good things! I'm also sorry for what you are having to deal with in regards to son. It sounds like you two have put the mess in a good place for yourselves and I am thrilled about that. You can only do what YOU can do. You can't make anyone else see any sense if they are refusing. Hugs.

Suzanne, you evening on the porch sounded lovely!

Tracy, glad you had fun on your trip!

Bethany, hang in there!

Angela, I'm with ya on the smoke thing. My head and lungs can't handle it anymore! AND I grew up with a smoker in the house! Go figure!

Cindy, I can't quite tell - are you excited about school almost being out? LOL!!! :w00t:

Jennifer, hugs and missing you, girl!!!

Had Bunco with the girls last night. It's always so much fun. Didn't get home til about 9:30! Ate too much crap. Typical!

Other than working at the yarn shop today, I have nothing else in the works. Probably should get my folder from the office and do some work on the church books. I soooooo am wanting to give that up. Unfortunately we need the $200 that I'm making from it.

I'm kinda looking for something else. I inquired with the local boys and girls club about a position they had but they want someone every saturday for 6 hours plus another 6 hours during the week. I can't do saturdays as I don't have any child care for DD. Oh well. I'll keep my eyes and ears open. All of my jobs have just sort of landed in my lap so I'll be patient and see what happens. And in reality, I'm just 3 weeks out from surgery so I really can't be doing a whole lot right now anyway.

I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

Michelle, my latest job fell in my lap. I was at Curves working out when the owner asked if I would be interested in a PT job. Ok. So I put in 10-12 hours a week. I love it. I get to work out, work for a few hours, meet new people and talk all I want and get paid for it. Dream job. Good luck.

Ok, I'm done with Doctors for a month at least. Latest news- They have found another cyst. This one is on my pericardigm (sp?). So the Doc today ordered an echocardiogram. I had one done about 20 years ago. She wants to see where it is at and if it might be putting any pressure on the heart. She did read the MRI on the spine and told me that the cyst on spine will have to be removed. I told her that I have an appointment with the Ortho Doc and the Spine Specialist next week. Sis just asked me if I have had my Mammogram done yet. I gave her that look. No more pictures, they keep finding things.

So now I'm home and resting for awhile. We will be doing our shift at the hospital tonight and that's ok. It's raining and they are calling for it to rain almost all night. So if I was home I would just be sitting here on my sore butt and worrying.

I for on am glad that Ochocinco went home. But I don't know who I want more to win. Evan or the girl with the dark hair. She is soooooo good.

Make it a good one.

I know I am the odd man out, but I do not watch DWTS or the Biggest Loser, and occasionally catch Glee, but don't stress if I miss it! On the other hand, I watch Sunday night from 7-10 faithfully!!! Extreme Home Makeover, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers and Sisters. And I record Breaking Bad while B&S's is on! And I watch Grey's and Private Practice on Thurs. Then this year I have got hooked on Modern Family on Wed!!! Most of the time tho we pop around on sitcoms. Light hearted, not to be continued kind of thing!!! LOL

Work was busy, I enjoy that. Had some morons in today tho----spoiled several ballots, something about voting for only one person per race was difficult to understand today. Then some guy come in and he had registered as a Rep. and he did not want to vote that way, wanted a Dem. ballot. I told him he would have to change his affiliation, and wait to vote Dem. for the next election, and he got MAD!!! refused to vote the ballot we printed him, and then wanted to take it with him. Well they are counted coming out of the machine, and then again as they are inserted for counting, and if the numbers do not match up---then it is election fraud! I mean if that were not an issue, I could hide ballots of those I disagree with. We had to call in backup for him. Frustrating, that people who want to vote, know so little about it, and then lose their temper over it!

So Suzie, do they think these cysts they are finding throughout your body it seems, are related to the chemicals you were exposed to? How bizarre---I am anxious for you to see your Dr. and get moving on this.

They are doing my MIL's biopsy Fri. FIL gets reamed tomorrow. Poor man is so stressed. Today I gave him a pedicure. He was so grateful, I honestly felt guilty that I had not done it long ago---but had no idea it was an issue. He cannot reach his feet, even without his belly (!) his spine just does not bend that way at 84. And he is diabetic....so his feet have bad circulation, but his poor toe nails had grown so long, they were hooked almost to the floor! He had gouged himself trying to do it with the Dremel tool! MIL cut them for him for a long while, but her arthritis has her hands almost curled closed. So I took the foot bath, and let him soak for 30 minutes, then cut and ground on his toe nails! They were bad, but nothing gag worthy!! LOL

My SIL was saying she just could not do that....and I guess I understand, some people have issues with feet. But she and my MIL like to point out they attend church much more regularly than I do, and they think I am a heathen! So I told her.....it wasn't beneath Jesus to wash anothers feet, so why should I feel it beneath me? She never commented!!! I know she isn't saying it is beneath her....but still!!!!

FIL said over and over how much he appreciated it, he was so happy! Then I cut his hair, told him I come prepared to clip him from head to toe---so he better behave! LOL

Rick is still not home.....hoping he gets here soon. chicken Pot Pie is done and waiting! Guess I will go and make a salad....need to eat more salad less pie. mmmmmhmmmmm sure do....we'll see!!

Kat, that is so sweet of you to do that for your FIL. I know I used to do Hubby's right after we were married. I taught him how to soak his feet in order to cut the nail. He was dry cutting them, ouch. So he does his own now. I have never tried to do anyone elses. Sometimes the thought does roll my tummy.

Home from our work at the hospital. We had such a good time. dinner wasn't all that I wanted it to be. I was so hoping that they would have chili there. The pot was almost bare. So I settled for a salad and grapes.

Now I'm in my chair with my jammies on and going to watch Idol.

Night.

Good morning everyone!

I still have not watched the biggest loser yet. I need to this morning before i accidentally see it online.

I need to pick my book back up and read more too. DH has been on his days off so I have been eating crap i shouldn't AND I have not been reading.

I have to admit I did pretty well with my eating yesterday. Could have been a little better but for the most part I am happy with myself.

I can tell dh is in a bad mood this morning. Maybe it is because he goes to work this afternoon  OOPS, wrong one..... Now, thats better....

Have a great day friends....be nice to yourselves. Suzie, you are in my prayers! Kat...I will be praying for you and your family as well!

Good morning girls.

The rain has fianlly stopped. Amen. We should be dry for about 4 days.

I'm gonna work real hard to make this a good day. I'm home till 3pm when I have to go into work. It's days like this that I let my eating get away from me. Not today. I have some new projects I'm going to start and that will keep my mind busy and not thinking about eating.

How many days till school is out???? June 3rd here. They have to make up snow days.

Good morning!

I just had a huge post and lost it!!

Kat, prayers for all that is coming your way. I had to shake my head and laugh at your response to your MIL/SIL...Jesus was not above washing feet! You have a way with words that gets your point across in a tasteful way. Love it!

Suzie, I am saddened by all of the cyst they are finding. I hope you get answers and relief soon.

Tracy, are you ready for summer? We used to have a community pool in our subdivision but now they have removed it (buried it is more like it!!). I am glad Zach is going to high school this year and there will be plenty of football related activities happening during the summer to help combat him being bored. What do you and Macy have planned?

Cindy, are you loosing your mind yet? Someone once told me the last days of school can be more stressful than the first!

I am so ready for this weekend!! Have a great day everyone.

Angela

Suzanne-I hate to sound like your sister BUT, you DO need to schedule a mammogram. OK?

Angela-nothing particular scheduled for the summer. We are going to be at the library a couple of times a week. We had a pool at the townhouses we lived in but now we are not there so....i dont know. Glad my mom and sister have pools, at least macy can swim there :) I will prob bring her to the city pool too.

Kat-i also like the Jesus comment. I'll bet it shut them right up!

Hi again!

Yikes, I forgot to tell Michelle good luck in the job search.

Suzie, nothing major planned this weekend. I have worked the past three Saturday's in a row and I am hoping for a break this weekend. Our terminal handles a lot of the cargo for Wal-mart. Sometimes if their ships or late or fogged or whatever, we have to come in and process their containers.

Suzie... I am with Tracy, get tested please!

Tracy, I hear ya girl. I am all about free/inexpensive summer fun. We used to hang out at the library a lot. Do you know about the La Porte wave pool? I think it is $25.00 per person for a summer pass and it is a blast. Actually, that pass will get you into all of the La Porte city pools. Deer Park may offer something to that effect as well. Man, it can add up at $1.00 a day so $25.00 for the whole summer is great!

We bought a house in December that is located on a canal. It is my pride and joy...all 1350 sq. feet! It is on stilts overlooking Dickinson Bay. A long story short, this house we currently live in belonged to my MIL. She gave it to my husband who lived here with his ex-wife during their marriage (hence the need to get something of our own!). It made financial sense at the time to sit tight and not take on another house note (and we did for eight years). We have been looking here and there but nothing serious. We happened upon this house one Sunday afternoon while we were driving around and fell in love. The price was just right (still low due to Hurricane Ike) and we felt like we got an excellent deal. It needs a little work and by golly, we are at it every chance we get!

I believe we will be moving there within the next few years. I want Zach to finish school in this district and once he is done we will pack it up! My husband is an avid salt-water fisherman (I feel like I have said that before?? Oh, well too tired to scroll back, lol!) and he has always dreamed of having a house on the Water so this is it. It is very peaceful there and I enjoy the sunsets, shrimp boats and the ducks. We have a big white duck "Aflac" ...named by my son, lol, and "Peg-gy" because she only has one leg (sorry...we are terrible!).

Anyhow, that is where I am hoping to be this weekend! I will try and log on tomorrow...if not I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Angela

Oh Angela, that sounds wonderful. I'm so happy for you guys. I bet your husband is ready to leave right now.

We had some friends that had ducks. One was named Mal and the other Ard. When one died, the parents insisted that it was Ard that died. lol.

Have a great weekend and stay safe.

Hey y'all~

What a day!!! Super busy at work. They held classes at the court house for all the election day workers, and absentee workers etc. And since they might not be working their precinct, they all voted today! CHAOS!! But busy is better.

Then I come home and mowed lawns---all of it, in one shot, no break---by myself!!! I kept thinking, Rick is going to be so shocked!!! Guess who is having to work all night??? LOL Figures!!!

My next plan was to go to Connors Tball game, but he was sick, so he didn't play tonight.

So took a shower, then went to dinner with Manda and Kinsey.

Come back home and met MIL here, and give her a shot (she is having her biopsy tomorrow, and she had to go off her coumadin, so we are giving her 2 shots a day of Lovenox).

Then Manda, Kinsey and I went to the carnival!!!

The little town I live in, has a yearly event called Fiesta Days, it coincides with graduation. They have a big parade, a pet parade, car shows, vendor booths, a mini Prince and Princess contest, it goes on for 4 days---lots to do---small town fun. Anyway---there is a carnival each year. Kinsey finally made it to be tall enough to ride many of the rides. With Manda's shoulder---guess who rode with Kinsey----yep Granny here!!! LOL We had the best time!!! Saw lots of old friends. Wish Rick had been there, and wish that Connor would have been well to go, but all in all, we had lots of fun!

Now I am exhausted. I am heading to bed in a minute---I will not sleep well tonight with Rick being gone....and work again tomorrow.

I am working for another woman on Saturday since Rick is working. Kinsey is upset because her preschool is in the parade, and she keeps telling me "but Granny I am IN the parade!" Now IF I was going to bug out on the people at work, that might make me do it!! LOL

Suzie, I have to agree with the girls---and I DO know how it feels to seem like you are spending every minute at the dr.'s. But you might as well find out where all these cysts are, and have your mammogram done. It is time for my follow up with mine, as soon as I am done working, I will do it. I will go get smushed with you!!!

Angela the house sounds great!!! Ducks must lose legs frequently---my Aunt has one that is one legged, and her name is Eileen (I lean), so you are not alone in the pathetic name dept. We had a 3 legged turtle named Tripod. Then the dogs....there was Dioge (sounds like Dee Oh Gee....or D O G), and Panintheas (puh-ninth-ee-us...run together pain in the ass). Naming innocent animals is funny!

My brother is a snake lover. He had a boa named Julius Squeezer, and a python named Monte. LOL

Well I am off girls, my jaws ache from yawning. Poor Rick, not sure how he does these nights. I am worried, he did not take enough food for this long. Leave it to me to worry about food!!!

Peggy (at least it wasn't Eileen, lol) and Monte and Mal & ARD...you guys are cracking me up with these names! lol

BP....wow such a great company with their name being dragged through the mud. Yes it was a BAD accident...but all the finger pointing needs to stop and everyone needs to just help getting the leak fixed and the clean up done instead of all the yack yack yack. The other day I actually heard someone on the Today show say, "they need to stop drilling in the Gulf of Mexico". Ummm, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am sure it IS a good idea for someone that probably does not have a car and walks everywhere they go but....lol, come on! She has no comprehension of what she said. I guess I am just touchy on the subject because that (drilling & production) is the lifeline to workers on the coast, not to mention BP is the top producer of Oil & Gas in the US. I am just glad they capped their liability $ otherwise they may not have recovered from this. Still may not. The last thing we need is to be more dependent on foriegn oil. ugh, makes me sick. OK...I am done....sorry for that :)

Kat-macys 75 year old 'pop' rides the rides with her at the carnivals, lol. They have a BALL. Let us know how it goes with MIL today!

Angela-we lived in Dickinson. I miss it. Good for you on the house! That is awesome. Thanks to dh EX wife, we will prob never be able to buy one, but at least renting, if we do not like it after a while, we can move! lol

Michelle-how are you? Are you healing well?

Suzanne-did you hear our advice? We love you! We want you to take care of YOU!

Cindy-i am not scrolling back, so how many days left now? :mad2:

Bethany....are you still with us? What have you been up to?

Jennifer....I guess I will have to TEXT your booty! You can run but you can not HIDE! :tt2:

Hello everyone else! :cursing:

Have a great day (God I hope I did not leave anyone out, if I di, it was not on purpose).

(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
