can't see pix either! but i think i know what michelle got cuz i've been coveting them forever. but since my trusty whirpool has not had ANY issues or problems in 10 years then juan says no way to new washer/dryer.

Jane! OH YES! please help me. I put in permanent color. It was the Loreal Natural Match in 4C. Dark brown cool. I should have gone with 4W, dark brown warm. Waaahhh. My hair looks almost blue it's so dark. Can i Shampoo it and it'll fall out faster?

I didn't get my security deposit back. I got a letter showing quotes from a few vendors for costs to make changes to some items. Basically the letter is saying there wouldn't be any deposit to return because of x, x, x potential expenses. However, I took video and pictures and I know I can fight it in court because the items are clearly frivolous. I checked and it will be easy and only about $40 to file a claim in small claims court.

The biggest thing she put on their was new blinds for the front window at around $1,500 which would eat up most of the security deposit. This is to replace white lace drapes that were in the window and are extremely old. There was nothing wrong with them except the thread was so old that the seams started separating between the panels . . . I sewed them and they are fine, just really old. There is no damage to them, they are white and look fine, they are just out-dated. I videoed them opening and closing and a view of each panel.

I decided to bide my time for now and am not responding to the letter. By not responding other than the initial letter I sent her a month ago requesting the security deposit back, I think she will assume she is done with me and just become complacent.

If she doesn't refund the deposit in 30 days, she owes me double per Ohio law. I also have the phone number and stayed in touch with the new tenant. I thought I would wait until the end of the year and check with the tenant to see if she had done any of the items listed. I am 95% sure she won't do any of it. She already told the tenant that the drapes stay with the house and she wont change them. I figured paying back double is a reasonable penalty for frivolous claims. It also isn't going to look good for her in court if she charged things against a security deposit that were never performed (or were performed directly before a court date after she received notification).

Last but not least, once I take her to small claims court and the items are resolved, I am issuing a formal complaint to the housing department for allowing her to rent property that has never passed inspection.

The only question I do have is whether I am just one of many that she has done this to . . . and perhaps they chose not to fight it.

Can i Shampoo it and it'll fall out faster?

I hope it doesn't fall out faster, lol.

That reminds me of trying sun-in for the first time as a teenager. It turned my hair carrot orange, lol. I wasn't allowed to die it so I couldn't fix it . . . and I had convinced my father that sun-in wasn't die. I had to live with the repurcussions at age 12, lol.

ha ha ha, Heather. I can see you with carrot orange hair!! I always wanted to use sun in but my mom said it was just for white girls, LOL.

And good for you in sticking up for yourself in all this fiasco. Most people would have just let it go since it takes so much time to document everything and follow up with everything. This isn't about the money, i'm sure, but about her trying to be a bad landlord to people. That's NOT acceptable. People work hard for their money and rent is already so high! I'm proud to say that we are very very fair and honest landlords. Juan is a pushover actually and will do most everything to make sure everything is perfect and that our tenants are happy, LOL...

Haydee, with that color, a level 4 is the same base color, it just has more additives to make it warmer or cooler. That is what the letter mean after the number. That is supposed to be universal, and hopefully it is with this. Your hair will get a bit lighter, just because, but for the next few shampoos use dawn dish washing detergent, followed up by a very good conditioner. You could go in somewhere and get a Shampoo cap, but that would be kind of extreme. They use shampoo, small amount of bleach to pull that color out. You can't remove color with color, so unless you bleach it out you can't get it lighter. That being said, don't panic because colored hair lightens much quicker and faster than your natural color! If you have any questions you can call me whenever. I would suggest next time you color your hair going with a 5. REMEMBER THE CARDINAL RULE OF COLORING, YOU CAN ALWAYS GO DARKER, BUT YOU CAN'T GO LIGHTER!!!!!!!! SO EVERYONE REMEMBER THIS WHEN COLORING YOUR HAIR!!!!!!

Jane is right! I can vouche, all those fade, even permanent. As someone who has dyed my hair since I was 13. I actually used the color you're talking about, except not the shade. I used the l'oreal cooler, one of the browns, to get the red out of my hair when I was going brunette for a little while.

About to go to steak&shake with my friend, I love their chili.. we have one by work but Russ doesn't like it, so I've not been in a LONG time.

I think sun-in is a mild bleach or something, isn't it Jane?? I tried it before mom let me dye my hair, and it never did anything.

I do recommend the melting pot!!! It was 'fun' and tasty. Gave us things to talk about. He picked out the swiss fondue as the starter (boring, an I don't like swiss as just something to eat) which came with cubed bread, apples, and veggies. It was alright, I'd have loved to tried the fancier cheeses. Then you have to agree on a 'sauce' that they make in a pot at your table, and then you buy your own meal (or, we shared one because we weren't too terribly hungry), they bring out raw meats on a tray (we ordered a sampler, had teriyaki beef (my fav), filet mignon, chicken, salmon, and shrimp). Then they made the sauce at our table, and left us alone. Oh they also give you a bunch of dipping sauces, and a bowl of veggies. So we took the capped mushrooms, put a sauce in, cookes some meat, made our own stuffed mushrooms. My shrimp was last since he's allergic. I can't wait to go back. We donated $10 to St. Judes through them (I donate to them anyway!!) and got a $20 gift certificate in return. We wanted to do the (expensive) dessert, but it was 11:20 by that time and they closed at 11. Their dessert is you pick a chocolate type (he wanted boring milk chocolate) but they had swirled and blah blah, and then they give you rice krispy treats, pound cake, marshmellows, strawberries and bananas... we're gonna go back one night just to get dessert!

I couldn't see the pic, Janie... it's just the basic Duet set, not the steamer one...

...BUT... every so often life surprises you... as it did me today... when the guys removed my old dryer... and the vent is dripping water! wtf? LONG story short... tomorrow morning the dryer vent guy is coming to de-gunk my vent that is clogged w/years of wet, stinky lint and *then* after running the dryer for a couple hours to dry out the vent, then maybe I can use them! waah! DH supposedly has been cleaning the vents (hmm) but because it's so long (20 feet w/2 bends) they say he couldn't have gotten the deeply imbedded gunk... so voila!... a nasty surprise today! And to think I'd worry about vent fires! Ha! I never thought to worry about vent flooding!

Then ds has explosive diarrhea... what a night!

Yeah, what oh what did I do before I became a Mom???????

See ya'll tomorrow!

Nom nom Laura... that sounds good! Definitely start w/dessert next time!

Haydee... so sorry about your hair! I had that sun-in experience as a pre-teen, too! Rite of passage, I guess. I've never had the guts to dye my own hair.< /span>

Heather... wow you're so calm, cool & collected... good for you!

Ok, really I'm going this time... putting on pj's & munching on some pink grapefruit...

Sweet dreams!

Good Early Tues Morn, Vi's~~

Today is DS's 15th birthday! :w00t: How is that possible?

Woke up an hour early to make him b'fast in bed: canadian bacon/cheese/egg warm biscuits w/a candle in one, fruit, cinnamon rolls, oj & coffee! There's Boston Cream Pie for dessert tonight! Hope his "ED" from last night is gone (and no, as used here, "ED" doesn't mean "erectile disfunction"!!).

The dryer vent man comes @ 8am.

Then I get to go to whatever's left of "Take Your Parents to School Day" at DD's school... oh yay... 90 minutes of honors algebra! Groan! But I am looking forward to her honors LA class.

Janie: that pic sounds funny & just about right, too!

Everyone make it a great day! When confronted w/the slimy lint of life -- just keep smilin'!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
