I am doing my six month supervised visit and I am just wondering is that six appointments or six full months from the first appointment and seven appointments? I have tried to call my insurance company and ask them and they are not very forthcoming with info. Thanks!

Different companies may have different requirements. Everyone that I know, including myself that had to have the 6 months of visits, had 6 visits, for 6 consecutive months.

Make sure that you don't miss a month. I missed my last month because my dr was on vacation and then I went the following month. Insurance company wanted to deny surgery and make me do the 6 months all over again. I appealed on the grounds that I had completed the 6 visits, I just missed the one month by 3 days due to my doc not being there. They did approve it finally, with a lot of pushing from me and the doctor's office.

In the middle of my six-month preop diet I got pneumonia, was hospitalized 8 days, and missed checking in one month. When I went back, I just resumed where I was, and only had to make up the extra time at the end. If I had a record of weight in the hospital, it would have counted, but I didn't get weighed. And it was a different hospital from where I got the surgery. But I'm sure every insurance company is different. Mine's Aetna.

Good luck!

Thank you all so much for your input it is very helpful! I am ready to be done with the six month diet but I have to admit it has given me a lot of time to research and learn more about the band!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
