Hi Everyone,

This is my first time in a forum, I have had my lapband in for 11 months and have lost 6 stone, my reason for getting the band was because I needed to loose weight for a hip replacement which I got 12 weeks ago and now waiting for the other hip to be done within the next 6 weeks. I had a fill of 1.5 yesterday and my fill before that was January 2009 in total now I have had 4 fills = 4.5. I have never spoke to anyone who has had a band fitted therefore I am not sure what it should feel like when eating:confused: So far I think my achievement has been down to me cutting down my food intake as I am sure I could still eat a large portion. I would love to hear from anyone that can explain their experiences.

Congratulations on doing so well! I was banded around the same time as you (10/23/08) and am down 55+ pounds.

As far as what it should feel like when you eat, for me, that varies depending on what I am eating and how tight my band is at that particular moment. Sometimes, certain foods seem to sit heavily in my pouch, which I find uncomfortable and don't like. Other times things go down just fine. I definitely get full on much less than I used to, and overeating has lost its appeal for me (I guess I must have found it appealing on some levels in the past, since I certainly did it often enough)!

Welcome to LBT! This is a great site and a really good source for support.

Best,

Catherine

Catherine,

Thanks for your reply and congratulations on your success so far. It is good to hear about other people and their experiences, it kinda lets me know what I should be experiencing although I know that everyone is different.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
