October 2009 Here I come

Hey..... On track for surgery. Me and my fiance are scheduled for 10/26/09. We have to weigh under 350 lbs in order to get the surgery, so we are on a diet working towards our goal. He has lost 25 lbs and I have lost 21 lbs. We are a little stagnant right now but we try to keep in perspective our ultimate goal which is to feel better, be healthier and look better :). Currently our goal is to lose another 30 lbs before 10/2/09. This is our final appointment prior to our surgery. We have to be under 350 on this date or we will not have surgery. So essentially we are looking for others who are going for surgery in 10/2009. We are located in New York.

Good Luck All

Hi my name is Heidi and I am scheduled for surgery 10/16/09 in Mexico. I am terrified, but I need to get my weight under control. I think this will be a great step, but the waiting is killing me.

I had mine done yesterday in Tijuana & I'm home now resting.

You will be fine.

:frown:

My date is October 29th. I am a self pay and too scared to go to Mexico in case something goes wrong. Having mine local but the cost is So much. I am terrified of being put under and something going wrong. I'm a single Mom and already feeling bad that I wont be able to take my daughter trick or treating.

I am starting at 195 and have a BMI of 33. Would love to chat with someone who is close to my BMI.

Good Luck Everyone.

HOW are you? What type of pain were you in the day of surgery? How has it gotten better over the couple days you've been home. Any regrets?

Coulld you just tell me a little about how you feel?

yes, please share Rebone!! I am dying to hear from folks who went to TJ.

I am considerably heavier than you, at 255.. ugh

Having been in your shoes last week I know you have a million questions so feel free to email me!

Redbonela@aol.com!

I feel great 3 days after the procedure & am excited to lose this weight. You will lose you weight faster than me.

I learned 3 important things:walk, sm slow sips, & deep breaths in & out!

Trust me these will mk life so much better!

Good luck

i was banded october 6th of 2008...i have lost over 140 pounds...i am not going to weight myself till my 1 year bandiversary...i wish u all luck and lots of healthy...fit...happy...thin...success!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, just because I'm curious and in awe...please tell us what your 1 yr anniversary weigh-in results are??? (wild clapping in the background....drumroll.............) and HAPPY BANDIVERSARY!!!

good morning;

i lost a total of 141 pounds...started at 296...size 28...finished losing at 158.8 size 6...now i need to maintain which is the scary part for me...i wasnt scared i wasnt going to lose at all....but i worry everyday i'm going to put it back on...:)

I hear you on that fear. two years ago I lost 50# and was doing well, then I sort of bottomed out and gained it all back. super depressing, so here I am doing this big act to try to keep the weight off once and for all.

That's fantastic!! You will be fine. Just remember all the things you did right!!!

Hey Guys, I just found out my surgery date is NEXT thursday. So I only have 8 days for my liquid diet but she said that would be fine. I cant wait to get my surgery!!! I have my preop appt tomorrow so I am nervous about that ...

My surgery is two weeks from today and the only liquid diet I've heard about from my surgeon is the 2 weeks AFTER the surgery. I know that there isn't one uniform plan that everyone follows, but what is the benefit for being on liquids before the op? Maybe it's something I should do for myself even if he didn't require me to? Tho I don't know that I could last weeks and weeks on clear liquids - the 2 weeks post-op now seems like forever. Advice?

I would call your doctor.... most pre-op diets are to shrink the liver so that the doctor has an easier time placing the band.... I didnt have a liquid diet I had a very low carb diet.

I was told not to diet. But, for myself I fasted 48 prior to surgery. Fresh veggie juice day 1 and Water day 2.

I think I didn't have to diet because my BMI was low.

But, I can also say I am feeling great with no complications!

Go with yuor gut. Good luck!
