Sorry if this thread has already been started but I looked around a bit and couldn’t find one. I think that those of us who are scheduled for September need a place to support each other, help pass the time, and not spam up the boards with a thousand approved threads:tongue2:!!! I am so excited to being this journey. So, how about it? Any lost September banders out there? :ohmy::)

I can have a protein shake today, I am sooo glad to get pass that clear liquids, that was very difficult.

OMG what gives with pain in my left shoulder? anyone else experience this?

No gas pains yet, but hunger headaches. I'm scared about the clear liquid diet

I was still in the hospital when the shoulder pain started. It took about six hours to get the pain under control. Interesting that mine move up to my left neck area. I haven't had any problems since. I had the hiatal hernia repair, too, and I thought that would make the shoulder pain more of a problem for a longer time. Someone else I know had her surgery the end of August, and still has debilitating shoulder pain at times.

I just had mine 3 days ago, and the hernia repaired at same time, I took gas X and it really kept the the gas pains in my tummy under control, but was no help at all with the shoulder pains, they are absolutely terrible!

Hey, I lived in Gulfport, MS for five years. I loved New Orleans! It's one of the greatest cities in the US!! Keep me posted on how you're feeling.

Well. tomorrow is my day. I go into the hospital at 7:30 am and should be banded by about 10 if all goes well with the surgery before mine.

I am doing great on the clears today, yesterday was tough, those shakes fill you up but broth and jello just don't cut it.

Lost alot already and looking forward to eating real food again in lesser portions and losing the rest of what I need to feel and be healthy.

I am a little nervous, as everyone is before surgery, but this group only does lap band, and the hospital is one of the best. They even have their own floor that we will be on, not with other ill patients.

You'll do fine! I had mine on Monday and I was a nervous wreck too!! Good luck!!

I moved to Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, my whole family lost our homes. I slept on the floor of a church for 2 1/2 months, it was a very humbling experience, my faith in God helped me through it. I have now come to like Mississippi but New Orleans will always be my home :smile2:

I know alot of people gave suggestions on what to bring with you. I had to drive 90 minutes to get home and I brought GasX with me, the strips that melt on your tongue. I started taking them the moment I got in my car.:thumbup:

In 24 hours I will be "Banded Bendy" lol.

My prayers will be with you. What was the special diet you had to do before the surgery and how long? I'm sure I'll think of more questions along the way but that one popped into my head just now. I promise to pray for you tomorrow. Take care of yourself. Remember this is for you.

I am wondering how long it takes until you are up and about after surgery... :thumbup:
