Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

Recommended Posts

Miss Irene: Hang in there. I'm struggling too at not losing any weight at all. I'm exercising every day and trying to eat at least 1200 calories. The biggest benefit is that I do feel better and, in the long run, that's all that matters.

LillyAnn: You are so fortunate to be able to get plastic surgery. Good luck on finding the right doctor to do the work! I know you will come out just beautiful.

Everyone take care and get back on track and stay there!

Thank you denise.. sometimes its the smallest things that seem to remind you what you're doing. Here I am, I started an entire thread based on Weight Watchers and I haven't been a good role model at all these last few weeks.

Ever since I got sick is when I stopped tracking. I can't let that make me lazy in getting back to it!

That's right!! Get back on Track!!

Surgeon #1 is a great guy. Many, many reviews from WLS patients who adore him, great references, great before and after photos, great staff. Very sweet and sensitive. Mr. Perfect. Surgery would be about $40,000 for 3 procedures. The Bentley of plastic surgeons.

Surgeon # 2 is also a nice guy. Very straightforward and realistic. Good, friendly staff. Not as experienced with WLS patients as the first guy, but a good all-around plastic surgeon with lots of general experience. Can't find much about him on the web, no reviews, but no complaints either ( I checked). Surgery would be about $25,000 and he would do it in 2 procedures, not 3. The Honda of plastic surgeons.

Both were recommended by my LAP-BAND® surgeon.

I'm not really a Bentley kind of girl. I would be if I were really rich, but, sigh, that's not the case.

This is a no-brainer for my husband. What do you think?

Hi Everyone,

It has been a horrible few weeks. I have been in the hospital following an accident which caused some broken ribs. Ouch...this is VERY painful! I had to be on painkillers around the clock. I am feeling much better now but it will take awhile before I am totally healed.

As far as WW is concerned, I have not been eating much...sleeping more. I have been weighing in on Saturdays so this Saturday will be my first WW meeting in 3 weeks. My scale says I dropped 5 lbs. but I am sure that had to do with all the sleep and non-eating I was doing. I will post my results when I return.

It feels great to be back!

Uggghh...week two curse. I weighed in yesterday and only lost .6 lbs this week. The first week I lost 6 and now only .6 - it is so frustrating because I did the same things both weeks. I know you always lose more the first week, but this is disheartening ):

hope everyone else is having a better week (:

hi everyone,

i seem to be in the same place....since vacation i havent been tracking. i think this is a reason for avoiding looking at what i am ACTUALLY eating. the reason i joined weight watchers and this thread was exactly to start taking responsibility.

this thread is VERY helpful to make me look at what i am doing in reality and not in my usual fantasy.

i gained 9 lbs on vacation. i lost 6 so far. but i really need to start journalling. my jeans are WAY TOO TIGHT. they used to be loose.

lil miss diva: dont be hard on yourself. no one expects you to be perfect. i really appreciate you starting this thread. and your positive input. however you need to be able to let your hair down here as well. otherwise it isnt a tool for you. your post about your tracking struggles actually helped me most today. because you made me be honest....

lillyanne: so exciting that you are starting your PS journey. all i can say is do your homework and make sure you see pictures of each drs. surgeries. i started with my LB surgeon's recommendation and almost blindly chose him because of my LB surgeon. but then i saw pics and wasnt so sure. i also read feedback from his patients and decided against him. he tried to talk me in extra surgeries. i then looked at a fancy doctor and booked him based on his reputation. but then i saw someone on here that had the best "belly-button" and went to see her surgeon.. i loved his approach and the results i saw of his previous patients. he was 1/2 price because he wasnt on any TV shows and i felt his results in the surgeries i had (TT and breast lift) were the best for me.

jolly:good idea about making the Soup to snack. do you puree the soup after you cook it? maybe looking at 40 lbs in 2 mos is a bit aggressive. sometimes that can trip us up? maybe just think about it one day at a time and they can all add up.

anyway i'm with ya' sista'.

deniseh: i love your attitude. thanks for sharing about feeling better and being healthy and not focusing the the "scale-god"

bella: ouch!!! hope you feel better.....

olive: keep on keepin' on.......i admire that you are keeping with it and not giving up. the scale sometimes drives my behavior. and it messes me up.

next week you probably will have a good surprise.

ok...i'm starting to track today!!!!

Hey there ladies! Well today I reached a weight loss milestone of 60 pounds lost! I was happily surprised when I stepped on the scale and saw 185. I think this last fill did the trick. I'm still tracking my points but I've been so full I've only slightly dipped into my weeklies. I am so happy about that!

Josie: Glad to see you back. I gained on my vacation back in August but I lost it once I got back on track. You will too!

Olive: 6 pounds in 1 week is not a realistic expectation for weekly weight loss. You know that. Slow and steady wins the race and you are doing great!

Bella: I hope you heal quickly!

Irene and Denise: Get back to tracking. You know it works. And you both can do it!!

Is anyone here blogging? I started a couple of weeks ago and there are lots of people from the boards doing it. I've found it quite cathartic. This is mine if you're interested Collapse of the pizza Loving Empire

Everyone seems to be doing great. I still have not joined WW, but I do journal my foods daily and I started losing again since school started at the beginning of August.

Melly: congrats on the milestone! I also read and commented on your blog.

Oh, and I am at home during the middle of the school day because I have the freaking H1N1 flu!!!!:scared2: It is the sixth week of school and I really thought I had dodged it, but alas, no. I am sick as a dog!:)

Hello,

I just started WW for the first time last week and had my first weigh in today. Amazingly, I lost 6 pounds!!!! I don't think I have ever lost 6 pounds in a week...well maybe the VERY first week of the pre-band diet when I weighed 230 ):

One thing that helped was a big pot of zero point mexican Soup.

Glad someone started this thread...I think the band plus weight watchers is a great combo.

Olive

Hey Olive...could you post the recipe for the zero point mexican soup? That would be SOOOO GOOD with this cooler weather coming!!!!

Oh no!! Aaagh, have you been vomiting much? One of my coworkers had H1N1 and said it was the worst sore throat and body aches ever but no vomiting. I'm hoping I don't get it!!

Everyone wash your hands and stay away from sick people. The vaccine is not out yet here and probably won't be till Mid/Late October.

Thanks for looking at my blog. I love comments!! I hope you get better soon, Crzytchr!

No, thankfully, no vomiting. I have a terrible sore throat, fever and body aches. My chest also is hurting, if it gets worse, I am supposed to go to the ER, since I am asthmatic. I am taking tamiflu, so I expect it to clear up quickly. I can't stay away from sick people, I teach:rolleyes2:. Hand washing is the only thing that kept me from getting it the first 6 weeks of school. Yes, we have been in school since the beginning of August!:scared2: Each week we have at least one in each class out with it. Now, it is myself AND one of my students.:) I hope to return to work on Monday.

Just thought I'd throw in my own 2 cents. I see nothing wrong with choosing option 2. Before doing that though, take a look at any of his pictures and compare them with the cadillac doctor. Ask if he also has any testimonials you can see. since you didnt notice any complaints then I say schedule that surgery!

Congrats to you on the 60 loss!!!! Keep up the good work! Yes, tomorrow is the beginning of a new cycle. I'm getting back to tracking!!

Hey Olive...could you post the recipe for the zero point mexican soup? That would be SOOOO GOOD with this cooler weather coming!!!!

I second that! Let's start posting some great WW recipes that will be fun for the upcoming winter months. I love cooking in the winter. Helps keep the house warmer too. !!

tchr, you don't have to join WW to chime in, please don't think that. I like the whole concept of tracking or journaling what we're eating. You're welcome anytime to follow along and post your ideas, recipes or milestones.

If you post recipes though, try to tell us how many calories, how many fat grams and how many Fiber grams are in one serving.

I HOPE YOU GET BETTER SOON! I think I had the H1N1, but never got tested. I just went to the doc and got some azithromycin. I have asthma too and don't like to wait until it's gets too out of control. I got better but it took forever!

---------------------------------------------

Okay y'all. Tomorrow starts a new week for me. I'm fully back to tracking and I'm also going to start doing the www.5daypouchtest.com to break the carb habit and to shrink the pouch. I've been doing alot of carbs since they slip through, its almost TOM so my cravings are bad and I havent been tracking.

I'll be fine! Don't worry - I'm so thankful to have all of you here to kick my behind when I need it!!!!

Yeah, it stinks when you work with kids! Those little buggars don't always practice good hand hygiene. I was a school nurse for a year and I got sick all the time. I even had pink eye twice that year and I'm religious about washing my hands. What grade do you teach?

I teach 4th and believe it or not, I have a thumbsucker in my homeroom class. Does the thumbsucker get the flu?! NO, the handwasher does. That just isn't right. :scared2:

I got my last (3rd) fill Aug.6th and lost about 5 lbs since. I've been eating about 1000 to 1500 calories a day so now I'm gonna try weight watchers starting today. I've been having trouble with my fill because some days I can eat some days I can't. I have a 14cc band and i'm 9.4 fill. About four years ago I lost 40 lbs on WW for my 2 daughters weddings but went back to my old habits after the weddings so on May 5th of this year I had my LAP-BAND® and so far I only lost a total of 20 lbs since the day of surgery. I believe I'm not eating enough and haven't been exercising due to a 2 month bout of bronchitis, which went away a couple of days ago. Now I m laid up with the gout, whats next. I'm confident I can get through this with the help of following weight watchers and my LAP-BAND®. So starting today I m determined to track what I eat and be successful in my journey no matter what obstacles get in my way. I ll report my weight loss weekly, thanks for your support.

1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?
