New to website, not new to surgery...

Recommended Posts

Hey there,

My name is Angela, and I am almost 10 months post op, but just joining the website.

I got married in May, and have met a lot of my personal goals. I have been on a plateau for about 3 months though. I have not shared the journey with many people in my life. In fact, most of my family, friends and co-workers don't even know that I had WLS. At first I didn't tell anyone because I was embarrassed at the fact that I couldn't lose the weight on my own. Then, I didn't share because I didn't want to be in the spotlight (in case I failed). I come from a really small town where everyone knows your business, and I certainly didn't want my weight to be the talk of the town, literally.

I am going Lapbandtalk.com as a form of support. My husband and mom have been very supportive, but neither of them are overweight, emotional eaters, etc. It is difficult to explain some of the emotions to either of them. I also feel like I have questions and things that I would like to ask, but don't know anyone that has undergone the surgery (again, the embarrassment thing).

Anyway, thanks for reading, and looking forward to the support! ~Angela

Angela,

Welcome to LBT! I was banded in Jan 08 and have been on a plateau for about 6 months now. I'm looking for something to jump start my weightloss again and get me going, but can't seem to break away.

This is a great site for suggestions and support. You've come to the right place!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
