  1. I totally agree. Whenever I get upset with my husband, step-kids or boss, I am always tighter. I'm not sure what causes it, but I have to take it easy and try to relax before I can even attempt to eat anything.
  2. I think we have all had little lapses in judgement and fallen off the wagon (okay....I know I have). Isn't it funny how icecream doesn't get stuck? In my moments of weakness, I have told my husband that since I can't eat very much food, I think I am going to make it all icecream! I am kidding, OF COURSE Get back on the wagon...you are doing GREAT!
  3. Hang in there! I totally understand the frustration with life after the band! It is funny....there are days when I am so thankful for the band, and so pleased with my decision, and other days were I wish I could just take it out and eat whatever it is I want to eat! We just have to stay positive and remember all of the reasons why we got the band in the first place. I have had the band for almost a year now, but just joined this site. The last couple of weeks have been so much better for me because of this site. It is really nice to read about other peoples stories, questions, difficulties, and to know that none of us are alone out there. Hope you are feeling better!
  4. I had my surgery on a Thursday, and was back to work on Monday. No one in my office even knew I had surgery. I was just very careful no not push myself too hard. I was told by my doctor that I could return to work within 3 days as long as my job did not require me to lift, etc. Just a suggestion- make sure that you get up and move every hour or so. I non-chalantly made little "laps" around the whole office, went to refill my water bottle, went to the bathroom, got up to fax something, etc. It really helps with the pain, and gas...at least it did for me. I lived really close to my office at the time of surgery, so I went home for lunch...(didn't have to bring my magic bullet to work with me). Good luck, and I am sure you will be fine!
  5. Hey there, My name is Angela, and I am almost 10 months post op, but just joining the website. I got married in May, and have met a lot of my personal goals. I have been on a plateau for about 3 months though. I have not shared the journey with many people in my life. In fact, most of my family, friends and co-workers don't even know that I had WLS. At first I didn't tell anyone because I was embarrassed at the fact that I couldn't lose the weight on my own. Then, I didn't share because I didn't want to be in the spotlight (in case I failed). I come from a really small town where everyone knows your business, and I certainly didn't want my weight to be the talk of the town, literally. I am going Lapbandtalk.com as a form of support. My husband and mom have been very supportive, but neither of them are overweight, emotional eaters, etc. It is difficult to explain some of the emotions to either of them. I also feel like I have questions and things that I would like to ask, but don't know anyone that has undergone the surgery (again, the embarrassment thing). Anyway, thanks for reading, and looking forward to the support! ~Angela
  6. You are not alone....my cycle has changed too. Not sure if it is the weight loss, the change in diet, etc. I use a heating pad (my pain is in my lower back), and it seems to help. Good Luck!
  7. Thanks guys! I kept telling my husband that I was tighter and he looked at me like I was crazy....which I am most of the time :crying: Thanks again for your responses...I feel better!
  8. So many...where do I start? *I want to sit on my husband's lap...comfortably  *I want to be able to put on a bathing suit and not care who else is around. *I want to be able to borrow clothes from people and not be embarrassed because they don't fit All of these are attainable....just need to keep it up. I am down 50 pounds and in a size 14 now...won't be too long for some of these goals to come to fruition!
  9. I know this seems like a funny questions, since the band and the reproductive organs are not related, but I always seem to be "tighter" during this time of the month. Am I the only one that feels this way?
