How will you know if something is stuck?

Recommended Posts

Became a bandster 7/9/09 and think I might have gotten something stuck. Will I be able to drink Water or take small pills if something else was stuck previously? I feel as if something is sitting at the bottom of my throat, but I drank and had my medicine, and nothing came up. Please I need to know what to do if something is stuck. I'm a little dissappointed with myself because if I would not have taken that bite of chicken when i wasn't suppose to, i would be ok. It's kind of like i failed in the first week.

Aw hon, sounds like youre stuck or you were and now your swollen. Ive never been stuck so I really dont know, but from what I hear its a feeling like a golf ball in the bottom of your throat. I dont know what you should do because the only bandsters I know who have talked about getting stuck were further out from surg than you. They just wait it out and go to liquids and feel better in a day or so. I guess you should call your Dr. Feel better and get back on the wagon. Liquids liquids!

The way I know if something isn't going down comes in one of two ways:- 1. I get the hiccups and they last untill the item either goes down or comes back up:eek:. The other and which I like the best is my nose starts running(Surgeon says this is not the norm, but occurs in a small ammount of patients). I have only gotten to the point of bringing the item back up once after my first fill. I have had only one fill since 4/28 and am loosing about 5 lbs/ month now and that's fine with me. The best weight loss is slow weight loss. If you have'nt had a fill yet you probably do not have much restriction. So my guess is to call your DR. and tell him/her what you are feeling. They know best and can probably give you quick relief from your discomfort. Hope this helped. rcher54

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
