I think I posted by bio on the wrong thread. Oh well, now you all know the story. No one else has a July 2nd date so far. Maybe the doctors don't want to do surgery right before the holiday. It works out well for me because it's one less day I have to take off from work.

I start my official pre-op diet tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to that, but I am determined to make it work.

Later,

IndioGirl,

Thanks for the kinds words and you have done great!! Do you keep on the boards to keep on track or just because you enjoy them?

I always wonder about the longevity because once people lose the weight or the opposite gain it back, many times they just disappear. Yet here you are and your advise it good.

Oh heck Octillo, even if you did post on the wrong area. It's okay, it was good to read your story :))

Is your diet mainly liquid? I will be starting mine next Saturday! A week from tomorrow. If you need any moral support please feel free to drop me a line, cause I'll be doing a liquid diet in about week. Man! It's gonna be hard, but soooo, soooo worth it!!

Ocotillo

IMHO the pple who quit posting aren't doing well in their journey to get healthy - my Lucky #7 had tons and tons of pple - now we are down to like 9 and 3 are adopted (banded in diff Months & years) and the ones who quit posting will pop in everynow and they tell us well I've only lost 30 lbs or have gained 15. I can't say I have a data to back it up really - So don't take that as an absolute

2 reasons for staying 1 is I have made new friends - my lucky #7 gets together every july - last yr we went to the Mall of America - this yr we are going to Canada to get together. I have a whole new family of friends. My lbt DD just came to visit me from Oregon - I have gone to Vegas to meet one of my #7 since she was so close -

When another bander is in my area - they look me up and I am in another state I have met other banders from my mentor thread or 50's thread

Also, for me LBT keeps me focused - I am not one to not practice what I preach - I had great mentors when I started and this is just a way for me to give back

IndioGirl, when I was doing eDiets, I met a few of the people I was dieting with too. Actually, two of them were in Alaska where my sister lived. It was really fun meeting them.

Thanks for your support and wisdom. I see you get around and it's nice to know someone has gone through the journey and is still here.

As for the liquid diet...no not totally liquid. Protein Drinks, salads and green stuff, and lean cuisines. The goal is to lose 5% of the weight before surgery. It's tough.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
