Approaching the 200 mark...

Recommended Posts

...hey all, I got on the scale this morning and found that I weight 200.6 lbs... hmmm:wink2: and YAY! Can't wait until I pass the 200s..

YAY:thumbup: - because I don't think I've been at 200 lbs in at least 6 or 7 years and that I've found the band helps me not to put on weight in between the times when I'm feeling like staying healthy.

hmmm:wink2:... because I wonder what it is about a number on a scale that means so much to me. I won't be a better person if I weight 1xx rather than 2xx, but I'm sooo pleased to be getting to that point. It somehow symbolizes something.

I'm less than halfway through my LapBand weightloss journey, but it's really making a difference to my success - the weight isn't coming off quickly, but it keeps coming off...

Good luck to everyone else - any similar stories? What was it like for you when you were approaching the 200 mark?

Congratulations! That is awesome!

I am the same way with the scale...when I see a good number I am very happy. I am having an issue with the urge to weigh myself everyday ( which I know is not good) so I fight with my self everyday. But when you see a lower number it is awesome!

so how are you doing now? I had my surgery middle of March, but haven't lost a lot of weight, like 22 pounds. I have lost more inches than weight.

I also wondered if me being over 50 had anything to do with it as well. I walk and swim as well as watch what I eat. My third fill is in two weeks.

hitting 198 was awesome. It feels like it took forever. I seem to have to be more and more active though to keep it moving! Is this what you have found?

yes I to have that same issue with wanting to weigh all of the time. I do the Wii which I love in the am before I go to work. I feel it keeps me on track.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
