Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!

Recommended Posts

Congrats Ann! You are spectacular.

I need to get going again. I've been at the same weight for a very long time and could really use some tips in getting back to losing. I am walking for almost an hour every day and have been doing that for almost 2 months now. Gaye

Today I weigh 158.4. Exactly what I weighed on May 25th just before I went on vacation. I am not so sure eating exactly what I wanted for two weeks is worth two months of struggling to get back where I was.

Something to think about. Now maybe I can start moving forward again.

Have a good week!

Same this week. I guess everyone has either met their goal or lost interest in this site. Too bad!

I have really appreciated all of the support over the last year and one half.

Keep up the good work everyone. Continued success to you!

Hey, Rebecca. I'm here. I haven't been getting any updates from the board, though. I wonder if the same is happening to others. I am surprised to see all these posts on here.

I haven't lost anymore. I keep fluctuating, which is frustrating, but I guess that's what maintenance is about.

I'm very scared that because I can eat much more than before that I am going to start gaining like I have with every other diet I've been on in the past. I know that this is different, but it's still hard to wrap my head around it all! Anyone else feeling that way a year out? Sorta scary, but I've gotta have faith that this time really is different!

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

Ann :(

I'm still online from time to time.

I have lost a few more lbs, but it's SO SO SLOW and I'm putting huge efforts lately. it scares me, because sometimes I wonder how long I can keep this up. i'm exercising a lot! I want to make it a way of life, but some days I feel so tired that I wonder -- can I really keep this up, THIS much? I go 5 nights a week to the gym, plus 4 lunchtimes at work. . .

My weight is still moving, but barely. . . Also, some days I think I may need a fill, other days I feel like a fill would make me too tight-- so it's basically a matter of me just measuring foods, choosing the right foods now, etc.

I'm still glad I got the band, but at times I'm frustrated. . . wondering if this is as far as it will take me. It's still better than before, but it's not really what I'd hoped for.

Spidey- do you think you need a small fill? you said you can eat more? or is that just once in a while? my dr told me it's normal for me to be able to eat more one day, less the next. . . but I don't like that feeling! ha ha

I have acid reflux about 2 times per month now -- barely any-- just a bit, but it makes me think I might need a small unfill. I'm scared to get any unfill, because as it is I'm only losing about 4 lbs per month, and I don't wanna gain any back.

ok- had to get this off my chest. . . tomorrow hopefully I'll be more enthused :(

So glad to see you guys here. My loss is very slow, but I know it is my own fault. I need a fill and have no time to take off work.

I certainly cannot eat as much as I could before, however it seems to me, at this point, it is down to the food choice issue.

Sometimes I make good choices, and sometimes I don't.. Most of the time I do.

I have just come to that point where it is not as easy as it was and I have to work harder at it.

One thing for sure, I am so glad I have the band. I will never have regrets about that. I have lost 54 lbs. That's amazing. I just want to loose more and I will.

I hear ya, Lisa! It is frustrating sometimes!

And, yes, some days I can't eat as much as others, so it does indeed fluctuate. I know I don't need a fill. All I have to do is try to eat chicken and I realize I don't need a fill. But that in itself is frustrating. I wish I could eat chicken! Choosing the right foods is key. And lately I've been eating too many "easy" soft foods.

I've been eating more since I started exercising more -- but haven't done anything but fluctuate a couple pounds since then. I had the mistaken notion that once I hit a magic number, it would just stay that way. Nope. Up 2, down 2 -- like a ping pong. Worse during that TOM. *sigh*

Hi Lisa - I've away on vacation and just checking the boards without posting but wanted to let you know for a while I was losing very slowly. I would suggest an adjustment. An adjustment when you are "in the zone" only needs to be .25cc which is a very very small adjustment. My last three adjustments have never been greater than .25cc but it really made a difference in weight loss. I was able to eat....( slower) but felt satisfied longer as well.

Something to think about......Don't get fustrated...you are doing very well.

Thanks for the responses.

Some days I also have trouble with chicken, other times it's no problem. My band can be finicky, but it seems that this is quite common.

I will also consider an adjustment. I decided at my last appointment that I'd wait until my next appt (mid Sept) and determine based on my weight loss over that time, whether or not I should ask for a slight adjustment.

It's so iffy though, because some days I feel that I lean toward soft foods too much, so maybe i don't need one-- other days I'm too hungry! It's enough to make me nuts!

Spidey-- My weight is always teetering up and down, up and down! I totally know what you're going through. I think your body will adjust though, it might just take a little time. I think you'll be able to settle at that weight if that's where you want to be. All of this time you've been losing, so I"m certain that you'll be able to maintain. :)

There finicky alright. For a year I could eat anything. At exactly one year I started having problems with bread and chicken. Also, I have to take it really slow in the morning.

How weird is that after one year. I don't get it but now I think I am like everyone else.

I am with you all, I have not been getting updates either! I am still holding, not going down, go up 1 down 1. I went in for another fill this week and I hope (fingers crossed) that that will do the trick. I feel like I am losing as slow as molasses in the winter but I am not gaining so I guess that is something. Since my fill I have noticed a big difference in what I am eating, so maybe soon... Ann you are doing awesome, I wish I was where you are!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
