  1. It sounds like the choice you have made may be the right one for you. If I had a few more lbs to lose, I may have made that choice from the beginning. Good luck to you. Let us know how you are doing.
  2. Being born and raised in So. CA I have been looking for a decent Mexican Restaurant in Western PA. for seven years. Careful what you wish for. One opened one block from my house. Not only is it great, it's just like the home made food I grew up with at my friends houses. This is very bad. This place will be the death of me. haha. I also really need a fill. I haven't had one since the beginning of Dec last year. All of my PTO has been used for the other medical issues going on this year. I hope to have one soon. That said, I still think the band is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Like my husband says, I am still down almost 60 lbs. I will just keep working towards that goal It is great to have support!
  3. Denverlee I am blown away by your courage. Thank God your child is doing well. When my son was 13 and again at 14, he ended up on the Oncology unit at Childrens Hospital in Orange CA with Leukopenia. His white count finally came back up and nothing ever resulted from it but I was scared to death. He saw an Oncologist for several years. We were so lucky. I just celebrated my 60th. My dear husband surprised me with an amazing party which included friends and family from all over the place. Since I have also had some health issues it was very uplifting. I have recently been diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome. At first they thought is was Sjogren's and Lupus. At lest the Lupus has been ruled out. I also have osteoperosis. Welcome to 60. Sorry I can't spell this medical stuff. This is not a threat to my life at all, just annoying. Things can always be worse. I have had to much fun recently and have gained about five lbs back. I need to get real again. I'm so glad you are all still here for support. I will check out the other thread. You all amaze me.
  4. I wish I could be of some help but I cannot. I wish you the best.
  5. It's so good to see you both back here again. I could not get on for the longest time. I finally figured out the right combination of passwords, so as of today I'm back. Gaye, I'm so sorry to hear you have had such a bad experience. I hope all goes well for you now. Ann, I'm kind of in the same situation as you. I lost 62lbs, got down to 150. My last fill was early last Nov. and I haven't lost a pound. In fact I am now back up to between 152 and 153. I know it doesn't sound like much, but seeing the scale go the other way at all makes my heart sink. I remember that feeling all too well.. I don't want to go on a diet because I know that only lasts while you continue to eat that way. Been there, done that. I'm kind of at a loss. I am trying to remember exactly what I was doing before that I am not doing now. I think it's just a lilttle change here and a little change there picking the bad habits up again. I really need to work on that. I am happy with what I have lost, but I never hit my goal weight. I still feel like I didn't accomplish what I started out to do. I wonder how John and some of the others are doing. Hope we can stay in touch. It really helps to talk to you guys.
  6. I didn't think I was ever going to be able to post again after the changes. The site would not accept my info. even though I looked it up a what I was entering was correct. After trying to sign up as a new user, It finally took my old info. What are they doing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Anyway glad to be back. Since my last fill in Nov. I have been losing again. Still about 20 lbs from goal weight but that''s ok. Little by little is fine with me. It was great to see that folks are still posting after so long. I know I still need the support. The last two weeks I have not been eating as well as i should. Once I start, it can go downhill fast.. i have to be careful. At this point, how much I can eat is controled by the band. I just have to make the correct choices. Take care
  7. I'm having trouble using the new version of this site. I wish they wouldn't keep changing things!
  8. Happy holiday to you too Sarah. I hope you have a speedy recovery. You have accomplished much!! In the scope of things, 2 lbs isn't much. Take care
  9. Having trouble using new version of this site
  10. Thank guys. it's good to know everyone is still out there.
  11. I'm off Friday and usually weigh in from work so i thought I would post today. I am so happy to say that I am losing again. Thank goodness. Having the fill really made a difference. I feel like the band is working properly for the first time since I have had it. Woo Hoo!!!. I don't even have to worry about getting through T day because I just simply cannot eat much. Also, I have to cut everything very small and take small bites. I am a happy camper. Maybe I will make my goal weight.
  12. Wow Ann, I had really missed you and was wondering what had happened. It's amazing that while you have been through so much you still take the time to encourage and support the rest of us. I also supported my mom through breast cancer in 1984. She lived another 20 yrs and her passing had nothing to do with the cancer. You are a strong woman and I so appreciate your support. I will be thinking of you and hoping for your quick recovery.
  13. Good luck Sarah hope all goes well. Thanks you guys for posting. After my fill a week ago I think for the first time the band is working like it should. I am not getting hungy often and I have to take it very slow. It's very hard to get food down in the morning. I am getting stuck, but finally it goes down. Or it goes down very slow. I too hope I reach my goal by my second anniversary. Thanks again for your support!
